How many GMD dies can you fit on one card project?

.. at least 6 LOL

I exploded Easter with this fun card filled with Gina Marie Designs die cuts.  I have a bunch of new dies sitting on my desk ..along with a gazillion other things I haven’t even had a chance to pull out of their packaging and I  decided I was going to get stuck in  this week.  I had no idea till I started just how well the dies I had were all going to pull together.  If you are a regular  Gina Marie Designs  addict, you will most likely recognize most, if not all of these dies.. but for those of you who don’t, there is a list of supplies at the bottom of the post  ūüôā

Plenty of room for a sentiment if/ when needed too…  just a fun, die crazy card… if you added a banner cut sentiment… that would make at least 7 GMD’s .. or a sentiment die too like the Happy Easter ..or 8 if you  had the stitched sun from the stitched skies set.. which I don’t have YET !

Christmas card with Black Velvet Poinsettia panel

I love how this one turned out … ¬† this is another one of my CraftsUPrint cut files ¬†from a recent purchase.

I used the single panel for this design and cut it from SEI Black Velvet Paper. I adhered it to a sheet of Canson Mix Media and colored the panel with Zig Clean Color markers I trimmed it to size and inked the edges. I made a 5.5×8.5 card base with 110lb card stock with a black boho cut layer and a red and white polka dot layer and popped the image topper on that. I added a corner die cut by My Little Paper World.

What I love about this design is that the negative left after the main cut on my Cricut Explore is equally stunning and would be perfect for another project, or to make a matching envelope. I hate wasting paper.. but specially this Velvet lol..so it’s fabulous for this type of project..

Vintage portrait style watercolored magnet

Well.. what a mix of goodies ended up in this project… I think everything but the kitchen sink lol

This is a new magnet framed with the Gina Marie Designs combo die piece you saw in a post earlier today…  looks a bit different now though LOL.  It had a few layers of Tim Holtz distress ink, followed by two colors of DecoArt Metallic Lustre, a touch more distress ink…. then 3 layers of clear embossing powder.

The image is “Lavish” by Rick St Dennis, which is one of 3 new ones in this style that I picked up last night.  She is printed on Canson Mix Media 9×12icon and colored with Gansai Tambi Watercolors using an H2o Brush.  I mounted the image to a piece of  COHAS magnet using a commercial grade double sided adhesive tape and then attached the frame with Zig 2 Way Glue.

This one will be joined by the other two images who will be turned into magnets too and will be joining my Abandoned Art bucket and abandoned in the coming months.  If you want to lean more about abandoned Art there are links to several Facebook groups on the side of this blog.  It’s all about sharing the happy!

LDRS Happy Mail – $1 Clearance Rubber Stamp deals

Now lets me just say.. not ALL of these LDRS Creative stamps were $1 clearance stamps before anyone goes to look for one and finds it is full price. ¬†I did pick up a few full prices ones using the 25% Kit & Clowder Group discount which was running last weekend… but most all of these were $1 clearance stamps. ¬†There are some still left.. so if you love a great deal.. you should definitely check out what they still have before it’s all gone. I originally ordered two of the London stamps with the intention of gifting one of them to someone, but alas they were out of stock so only sent one and a refund was issued..sorry .. I’m keeping that one lol.

I’m one of those who really likes to see stamps physically before buying, but these were such a great deal..it was worth a shot. ¬†I loved these so much when they arrived..I ordered 11 more lol. They are mostly unmounted, but ¬†the two Dove Art Studio stamps are mounted and what I thought was really cool… the mount has the image on it too so you can see it through the Acrylic blocks ¬†ūüôā

The unmounted ones I just popped some Zig 2 way glue on.

Velvet and Acetate fairy layers birthday card

This is one of my latest ¬†cut file purchases ..isn’t she cute. ¬†I decided to go with a bold contrast look and ¬†chose silver glitter for the card base, an acetate window and black velvet paper over 110lb card stock to create this cute card.¬†The Fairy topper was cut on the Cricut Explore from a CraftsUPrint cut file. ¬† The texture on this card is quite cool…. smooth acetate, fine textured glitter ¬†card and then the lush velvet… makes for a great tactile card.

Unplanned Michaels haul.. WHAT A DEAL !

We went out for dinner and I decided to swing by Michaels just to grab a  frame and check out clearance..and OMG I am so glad I did.  I almost changed my mind.

I just had one of the best hauls ever…..

For the first time Michaels have started doing Grab Bags at the local store.. at least it’s the first time I have ever seen it. ¬†I have seen small ones at Joann before, mostly stickers and embellishments.. but I am talking SWAG BAG grab bags .. lol.. these are their large bags.

I wasn’t going to grab one because I had the lil guy with me and ¬†people had pretty much ripped them all open to see what was inside..and it would have been hard to grab one without dropping everything and keeping an eye on lil man. But while I was at the register I went ahead and grabbed one since they were right next to it and the cashier was someone I know well enough ( yes I shop there too often LOL ) to trust him to keep an eye on my kid for 2 seconds !

Now I confess I picked up this particular one because I saw something it it I had wanted to try..and that alone was ¬†worth the price of the grab bag LOL. ¬†Mambi paper, I had seen it on Christmas clearance but wasn’t ready to grab something I hadn’t used before and wasn’t sure of, when I had plenty of other things to spend on. ¬†But this bag was ripped open and it had 4 packs of it on show.. so heh… what am I ..a saint?? that was at least $40 worth of paper.

so here is my $4 grab bag from Michaels..

4 packs of 9×13 (24 sheet) Mambi Paper
22… yes 22 pocket/purse calendars for 2017 which will be great for Abandoned Art ¬†projects with some quick fun decoration.
27…TWENTY SEVEN canisters of Scentsicles… lol not sure what to do with all those.. but heh.. I am sure I will think of something. ¬†the containers might be useful for decorating ¬†if nothing else.
A pair of knitting needles
2 black pom poms which I forgot to add to the picture.
a pack of rhinestone letters and a metal sentiment
2 silver block letters ..about 4-5 inches high

so at least $100 worth of goodies at original prices.. for  FOUR DOLLARS !!!

Then… we move on to bag #2 this was the stuff I actually picked up myself..

12×12 undecorated wood frame
2 packs of Chipboard albums ( big and small album in each pack )
clearance wood stamp
clearance cling stamps X8….8 Hampton Arts cling stamp sets
4  undecorated frames for the lil man.

Would you believe both bags… cost me just under $33 and contained at least $200 worth of goodies at original pricing. Between the grab bag, the clearance pricing and the coupons… THIRTY THREE DOLLARS !!!

I have to say I am thrilled to see Michaels doing the grab bags instead of dumping all the left over Christmas stuff that didn’t clear. Not just because it is such a fab deal for people like us who do multi crafts and who do abandoned art and kids art… but because I HATE WASTE. ¬†So good on Michaels for trying to find a better way to dispose of their unsold holiday stuff!!! and give customers a great deal… some of us really appreciate it. ME ME ME ME ME ME ME

Anywho.. one very happy camper… just a shame that hubby works a double tomorrow. ¬†I think if he was single shift, I’d go back for another grab bag. I am not sure if this is a storewide thing, I know it is being done in another store near by… but I would definitely check and see if your local store is doing them if you are running by one.

If you swing by and find a grab bag, be sure to share your haul ..I would love to know what everyone else got ūüôā

“Catch of the Day” fun fishing themed card

I picked up another fun new cut file in my latest traipse over at CUP,  Tri-Fold Scalloped Top Card by one of my favorite SVG designers, Rae Carr.
cup_fishies

I recently picked up some new Gina Marie Dies “Gone Fishing” and ¬†I had ¬†grabbed this fun image from Bugaboo Stamps called¬†Girlz – wiggle the bait¬†to go with them. ¬†Well as it happens, I have been waiting for ¬†just the right project to use the paper stack I won from DCWV a few months back.. and this was it! ¬†It’s a gorgeous paper stack called Coastal, filled with all sorts of cool ¬†card sheets.. including some pearl foiled and printed linen pages. cup_fishies2 cup_fishies3
I added in a dual stitched frame ¬†using my Lil’Inkers dies and added the catch of the day chalkboard look using a Zig Chalk Pastel Pen. ¬†The inside ¬†net was created using the lattice portion of the Gina Marie Lacey Lattice die set I got a month or so back. ¬†The fish was colored with Tim Holtz Distress ink pads, as was the chalk board frame and the nets and rod.

The base card was cut from a Craft Smith solid color card stack on my Cricut Explore and the image was printed on Canson Mixed Media, then colored with Chameleon Pens.

Adhesives for this project were Zig Photo Tape and Zig 2 way glue.

I was naughty….this was supposed to be my DT project for the new Bugaboo Stamps Challenge starting on the blog in January… but I was impatient to share it. ¬†Soooo…. guess I’ll be doing another project this weekend lol.

Be sure to subscribe to the blog, or follow me on Facebook etc if you want to be alerted to the new challenge. ¬†All you Bugaboo Stamp fans, get your creative juices flowing.. ¬†this one is exclusively for Bugaboo Stamps Projects and prizes are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps every month. ¬†Woo Hoo.. we love our Bugaboo Stamps, so the DT team are a bunch of happy little clams…. and ….we have a new DT ¬†joining us for the Bugaboo Challenge too ¬†ūüôā

Slightly off topic and I will be posting about this tomorrow ¬†too.. I just had a quick peek ¬†to see what new Gina Marie Dies are available and saw some fab deals on some Deep Red Rubber Stamps ..I was drooling over the vintage ones… specially at those prices. ¬†They will be fab for my vintage/steampunk backgrounds. ¬†AND for any of you old Cricut Explore owners who never got the Bluetooth Adapter... I also saw they have a handful of them available .. $10…… so if you always wanted one.. now’s the time to go grab one, they don’t have many in stock.
