12×12 Framed Scrapbook page

I love messing around with  12×12 …. but I am not a scrapbooker.  I prefer to frame them and use them as art instead, so…. here’s another fun framed art.. very simple but cute.
The image was print and cut on the Cricut Explore, colored with Chameleon Pens and then attached with Zig 2 Way glue to a 12×12 sheet of paper I acquired from a fellow crafter who was de-stashing.

There is plenty of room  for a poem, or a Sentiment if so inclined …

This image is Girls Happy Trio by Bugaboo stamps  who is  the sponsor for our Monthly Bugaboo Crafty Challenge.  Whether you are a card maker, or dabble in  other craft forms.. these images are so much fun to color and use…so grab your Bugaboo’s and come on over and show us your style.

Fairy Topper Notebook

I made this cute Fairy topper design  Fairy on Fancy Background No.3 into a notebook cover for my friends little girl.  It’s a full 8.5 x 11 comb bound scribble pad  and I will add her name to the scroll on the front.  Another gorgeous Lyn Simms design for the little fairy lovers  in our lives.

You can find this file in various cutting machine formats at CraftsUprint

Bible Bookmarks for Kids

I have a retiring bundle from Bugaboostamps to share with you all today. As you know the lil guy and I do Abanandoned Art and bookmarks are one of the things we like to abandon, so this bundle was perfect for that. I went in search of some Bible verse to correspond with each image and found these at Ministry to Children

I added the text to each Image and a border then printed them on Canson Mix Media Paper. I gave them a very subtle wash of color using my Gansia Tambi watercolor paints  and then mounted them on Kraft card and laminated them.  This is my Project for the  April Crafty Awesomeness Challenge, I hope you will go visit and check out the other DT projects using similar bundles and hopefully we shall see your projects too.

You can find the AKV God Set Bundle  over at the new Bugaboostamps.com Store.

Unity Stamps Shaker Game Card

It’s been a while since I made one of these… and I have a few new variations in mind, I just haven’t had time to do them yet. This is one I made for the Unity Stamps Facebook Group challenge which is currently ‘watercolors’. Unity (Show and Tell) using Warm inside

The circular frame is  made using a Gina Marie Designs Die “Mini Heart Lace die set”
These are the 3 inch circular windows, 1/4 inch deep  and the balls are approx 5 mm.  No foam padding needed as they are already deep enough, just fill and glue.. or glue and fill.. depending on what kind of shaker you are making.

Watercoloring was done on  Canson Mix Media 9×12  with Gansai Tambi watercolors & a BrushH2o

UnityStamps Laminated Bookmark “First love, First Hero”

Another quickie Bookmark featuring the Unity Stamp co stamp, “First love, first hero”.  Text was from an old paperback book hubby was throwing out… waste not want not lol. I stamped it up and colored it in distress marker, then inked the edges using distress ink pads. I mounted it on a piece of card, also colored in distress inks and then laminated it and punched a hole in it for a ribbon.   This is joining the growing Abandoned Art project bucket for our upcoming “mission”.

Sneaky Peek.. You’ve been Framed !

So.. ready for a sneaky peek at a few more  fancy frames using the Gina Marie Designs Die Collection?  As you can tell I added a few more fun die sets to my collection this week .. so now I have even MORE combinations I can make up and play with.

I just ordered my final missing  die that I REALLY wanted for this project, the Dot Stud Rectangles.   The Dot Studs are the ones with the larger circle cuts…I have the circles now..as you can see in the picture and  already had squares, but Rectangles were  out of stock and I  REALLY REALLY like  the Dot Studs, so I had to go hunt a set down.  I think these are my favorite of all the IN/Out dies….  I hope that gets here soon.

There are so many combinations for this technique… and it’s such a great way to get a Bonus cut from your in and outs… expect to see these  A LOT in projects 🙂

Guest Designer – Lil’ Man D ( 4yrs old ) laminated bookmarks

We had to go get new tires the other day and my lil guy.. much as he loves the dealership and checking out all of the cars and trucks..specially the trucks ( he is just like his daddy when it comes to trucks lol ) .. he gets bored after a while.  So this time I decided to take along my portable easel box I showed you in a previous post earlier this week and watercolors  in case they came in handy… plus it was a great way to test it out and see how well it worked out.

They have a seating area with comfy chairs, but also a large eating area with vending machines and coffee etc and part of that is a long bar area with bar stools…and lots of natural light from the big windows.  So we sat down  with some snacks and drinks and I started to color.. lol.. 2 seconds later as predicted “I want to color please mommy”

So here we go, these are 4 of the bookmarks he painted while we were waiting for our new tires.  I had already stamped everything out  on precut  strips of Canson Mix Media Paper and they were in the easel box ready to go with the H2o pen.  The easel box and the Gansai Tambi box are about the same size so easy to grab and go even without a bag.
I love this first Giraffe because he told me he was painting a rainbow on it too ..  I love his imagination, but I am sure glad he explains what some of it is sometimes haha.  Some of these will go to friends and relatives and others will go in the Abandoned Art box.  The Giraffe is a stamp we picked up at Michaels last month.  The father and daughter image is a Unity Stamp co stamp  that I stamped up for me to color, but he hijacked it haha

The finished pieces were mounted on some plain Recollections 65lb card stock and then laminated and a hole punched for them.  A little bit of ribbon and some beads and they will be all ready to go 🙂

This portable easel with storage is great .. he loved it so much he asked for one of his own so he could bring his pens along next time too.  These boxes are small enough and light enough for a kid to easily carry around and if required .. you could easy pop on a carry handle or strap. Once his is finished,  he will be able to decorate it as he wishes. He loves to paint wooden blanks and boxes,  so I know whatever it is…. it will be UNIQUE  haha

Abandoned Art Project – Readers Series

I had a fun idea for a new Bookmark Series to combine my CUP ( CraftsUPrint)  digital stamps by Gordon Fraser, with my Abandoned Art Projects.. doing something fun, and hopefully Inspiring people to read some of the classic literature that may not have crossed their path.
I was trying to decide on how to make my bookmarks when it hit me.. I could  pick classic tales  inspired by the images and add a short Synopsis to the back of each bookmark .. maybe inspire someone to hit the local library, or bookstore and check it out.

Now i am no literary  genius, so some of my book choices may be a bit obscure, based on books I have personally read.  Others will be pulled from the depths of Google based on search queries like “Pirate story book”  “traveler tales books” etc, ..and once I find a title I like.. I am going to see if I can pull up some fun info to go with it and  of course ..a Synopsis.  Wikipedia is such a fab place to get info on authors, artists, entertainers and  details on so many subjects… so Thank you Wikipedia for helping me further  the  cause of educating people on some great literature.

So here is the first bookmark in the series… Inspired by Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Unity Stamp co. bookmarks for the Abandoned Art Bucket

I wanted to have a quick play before bed last night/this am ..I have had these stamps sitting here staring at me LOL. I had an old paperback of hubby’s sat here on my desk for a while now too. He no longer wanted it and I didn’t want to waste it..so it was a toss up between upcycling it, or finding a new home for it. I am sure it was a fabulous story… but upcycling won.

I see this as a fitting tribute to the author who will now be enjoyed by a potential 322 people if I were to  use the complete book to make bookmarks for Abandonment projects. That’s a pretty good audience, even if they only get to read snippets of it.  Even if I had given it away complete….I doubt it would have ever reached that many people.

I may try that idea next….. like the old Where’s George site for $ bills. I could do a “WheresJim.com” and see how far a book travels; assuming of course the book is by an author called Jim, like this one.  It might be fun to do it with a kids book… hmm, idea to tuck away for when I have some spare time  🙂

I have a bunch of stuff to take care of between now and tomorrow night. A new month is coming and that means Lots of projects and new challenges to be set up and winners to be picked.

Did you know CraftsUPrint have digi’s too.. who knew !!

I had seen one or two of them before..but didn’t realize just how many they have.

There is one artist in particular who has some real fun images.  I grabbed a bunch and had a little coloring fun last night. These were print and cut on the Cricut Explore on 110lb card, the colored with various pens…. Chameleon Pens, Zig Kurecolor and some new detailer pens I grabbed to try by Sargent Arts & Sharpie.

I made these up into a couple of cards and a frame for one of my small watercolored stamps I got from LDRS Creatives this past week… lots of fun designs so if you are looking for some character Digi’s and haven’t found what you were looking for, check them out.  The artist is Gordon Fraser and you can find his gallery here Gordon Fraser – CraftsUPrint Designer.

I have a bunch more of these fun digi’s  to get colored up… so expect to see more from this artist in the coming month.
