How many GMD dies can you fit on one card project?

.. at least 6 LOL

I exploded Easter with this fun card filled with Gina Marie Designs die cuts.  I have a bunch of new dies sitting on my desk ..along with a gazillion other things I haven’t even had a chance to pull out of their packaging and I  decided I was going to get stuck in  this week.  I had no idea till I started just how well the dies I had were all going to pull together.  If you are a regular  Gina Marie Designs  addict, you will most likely recognize most, if not all of these dies.. but for those of you who don’t, there is a list of supplies at the bottom of the post  ūüôā

Plenty of room for a sentiment if/ when needed too…  just a fun, die crazy card… if you added a banner cut sentiment… that would make at least 7 GMD’s .. or a sentiment die too like the Happy Easter ..or 8 if you  had the stitched sun from the stitched skies set.. which I don’t have YET !

Cute As A Button over the edge combo card

I have another new Over the edge card cut file from CraftsUPrint today.  I love these files because they are so versatile. .. with a little tweaking you can change the dimensions to make square cards,  crop them for edging acetate panel cards, draw the designs instead of cutting, rotate them, adjust the score lines to make 3/4 folds.. so many options… or of couree, leave them as is  LOL

This one is

FLORAL OVER THE EDGE 37 by Apetroae Stefan

I kept pretty much as it comes in the original file, I just left out the contrasting insert.  I added burgundy pearl cabochons to the flowers and  added  the image  which is a clear stamp from Cute As A Button.  I  colored this one in subdued tones using  Tim Holtz distress pens on Canson Mix Media 9×12icon paper, popped it on a sheet of foam and added contrasting shabby cut layers.

You can find Autumn Fairy in the Cute As A Button store in both clear and digital formats.

Laminated Bugaboo Bunny tags & matted art

Here’s the first of my projects ¬†for the Bugaboo Crafty Challenge No.2 .. featuring Easter Bunny Line¬†¬†by Bugaboo stamps.

I printed out & colored up my image on a sheet of Canson Mixed media. The original image I framed in a sage green photo mat that I managed to score in a local Walmart clearance section.  I picked up a bunch of  double mats and they will be great for abandoned Art projects. So here is the original hand colored image.

But.. before I matted it,¬†I scanned and resized the image…added pin stripe borders and a “Happy Easter” border and printed and laminated these cute little Easter tags.

Thank you for visiting, I really hope we get to see some of your own Bugaboo Projects in the current challenge.

New Gina Marie Dies haul

Well I couldn’t resist one more quick die haul before my little shopping spree for the year ended.. so I grabbed these. new_gmd_dec

I don’t have ¬†a lot of masculine dies so the GONE FISHING DIES set was a definite ¬†plus…. I have a friend with a husband who loves to fish and I am sure I can find some fun humorous sentiments to go with these. ¬†He is terribly accident prone and has pretty much been rebuilt¬† more times than the Bionic man… so he has a sense of humor that matches my own lol. ¬†Just as well really since he is such an easy EASY target haha. ¬†Any man who can break ¬†their pelvis while standing on a two foot wall fishing… just gotta learn to roll with the punchlines LOL.

He has been more trouble since he retired than ever…. who knows what he will get up to next. In this weeks saga…¬†he is getting surgery on the finger he decided to chop off at the tip last week. *rolleyes. Rest assured, ¬†all of the appropriate jokes have been distributed and his wife ¬†has declared herself unwilling to scratch his butt for him if he chops anything else off lol.

Aint love Grand !!! ¬†But we love him anyway… he’s like that 3 year old who gets into trouble and you give them the stern lecture, while trying ¬†not to giggle at their antics. He’s my favorite A$$hat and I would be lost without my partner in crime when it comes to bad humor.

The SNOWFLAKE BORDER DIE 5.5 LONG border was just too cute to pass by

.. I love my frame sets, so had to grab at least one of these¬†MINI HEART LACE SQUARE DIE SET¬†..and they kinda look ¬†like 4 leaf clovers in this design too.. so perfect for St Patrick’s Day and good luck cards.

The FLOWER BRANCH DIE just caught my eye and I had to grab it..and then somehow.. the ORNAMENT & SHADOW DIE SET just fell in my packet * grin.

Now I just have to find time to ¬†do some fun new projects with all this new stuff ¬†ūüôā

Marvelous Molds – cake decor, polymer, plaster and more

Some of you may have heard me ¬†talking about a desire to start working with resin again.. and you may have already seen Playdoh projects and the like on here in the past. ¬†I was so excited to accidentally stumble across this site when I was updating affiliate info on the blog. ¬†CHECK these out…..

mm-web-logo-200px

Now these are ¬†Food Grade Silicone molds…. but they can ¬†be used for plaster, soap, wax and a bunch more crafting ¬†media. ¬†They can withstand 400 degree heat, so work with allsorts of materials.

One of the really cool features of these molds that I liked a lot was the cutting edge built in to the design and the wide array of designs and texture plates available, which would be great for my playdoh, polymer and plaster projects. ¬†If you enjoy crafting with 3D embellishments… ¬†check these out. ¬†I know a bunch of you do mixed media pieces and upcycle and re purpose pieces in a variety of media.

I picked out a few of my personal favorites to show you, but you really have to go check them out for yourself. ¬†Whether you are a cake decorator… and we have a few of you ladies too in my various Facebook Groups and contacts, or you are a mixed media artist, jewelry maker, modeler or whatever…. these are definitely worth a look.
As soon as I have some spare ¬†money, hopefully after Christmas…. I’m grabbing some of these and a new supply of Tap Plastics resin. ¬†Woot… so excited to find really cool molds ¬†to play with.

The video on the page I am linking to is worth a watch even if you aren’t a cake decorator… it ¬†has some useful information and tips on it that apply to any use.

Club KennyK Challenge card.. with a twist….ed sense of humor.

The¬†minute I saw her, I knew I had to have some fun with this one…. she’s just too dang cute to be scarey. I grew up loving 50’s music, songs like “Love Potion No.9” ¬†and when I saw this image that is exactly what popped into my head.

So here she is.. ¬†my naughty lil witch looking for love. ¬†“Book of Spells” by KennyK. ¬†she is part of the New Releases that came out recently. ¬†If you missed that post, go check them out ūüôā

Colored with Chameleon Pens ¬†then scanned in.. given digital borders and hearts and reprinted on canvas paper for a lush deep color and texture. ¬†I love my Epson Eco tank Printer, I no longer worry about printing out ¬†in color and heavy black borders… *wub and running out of Ink too soon.

She is foam padded for an elevated effect and the background card is from the Red 12×12 Craft Smith pads, punched with a Fiskars heart border for a little extra fun. ¬†The close up below shows how gorgeous this canvas is….

I entered her in the current Club KennyK challenge over on Facebook… and I think I’ll be sending this over to one of my witchy friends so she can give it to her hubby…she’ll get a kick out ¬†of this one ¬†ūüôā

Vintage monotone “Shabby Card” with fancy edge

I’d been wanting to ¬†use this image for a while now, but was waiting for the right project to fall in to place. ¬†It’s one of the older Scrapper’s Delights images and has more detail and shadowing ¬†than the newer style images… but lends itself perfectly to this vintage “shabby” look. ¬†Because of the style it’s incredibly ¬†quick and easy to ¬†achieve this look, even if you aren’t a regular colorer.

Pencils and an alcohol blender pen.. a round stiff bristle brush and an ink pad… ¬†no ¬†hardcore precise coloring skills needed. ¬†Even my 4 year old can dry ink these vintage shabby style backgrounds… in fact, if I recall he “hijacked” helped do this one lol.

The fancy edge border card is a cut file from CraftsUPrint “Over the Edge Floral Border 6”
Image is  Holly Hobbie Set 4
Colored with CraZart pencils, a home made alcohol blender pen and some Ranger Distress inks. ¬†Fancy border has a Gelly Roll Stardust outline for a “lil bling”.

The roses frame is part of a 4 pack cut file set by Tina Fitch again… can you tell I am really enjoying this designers cut files lately ¬†ūüôā

cup_sympathy_wmded
