Bargain Hunting on Ebay again

I was taking a break and perusing Ebay again looking for some bargain deals for me and the  little guy to add to our wishlist… and ran across these goodies, so thought I would share them for  anyone interested.  A lot of these are from overseas sellers, so expect a wait  to get your goodies.  There were  so may great finds added to our wish list, but here are just a few of them.

Embossing Folders by  seller 15oceaneshop

There are a lot of fun new designs to choose from and I didn’t see anything priced over $2 in this batch.  Great way to pick up a bunch of designs if you are new to embossing, or if you just want to bump up your design stash.

I particularly like this one… no surprise there really since  I love the Steampunk and vintage stuff so much.  Some of you may remember my adventures in Playdoh a while back… I love embossing folders like this… they make great image presses for Playdoh or Polymer Clay projects too.  I am very into  multifunctional crafts lol… I like to get my moneys worth out of things we buy… so if I can find more than just the traditional purpose for them.. all the better  🙂

Talking of Multifunctional… I love Silicon molds,  these are  great for  icing and confectionary of course, as most are intended.  BUT … they are also great for Plaster of Paris, Polymer Clay and Embedding Resin projects.  Someone asked me once if they could be used for Paper clay projects.. I still don’t have an answer to that one.. but I am probably gonna try it one day  LOL.

I found a bunch of cool molds that would be  fun to play with…. these particular ones were listed by homesale_sky and  this is just a handful of the really cool molds that caught my eye.  These would be great for decorating mix media, upcycled projects or jewelry making.

I also found some really cool metal dies which are definitely going on  my wish list…

Latest Die Haul from Ebay

I got my latest set of dies from  this morning.. the slow boat from China .. is getting much quicker  LOL

I recently discovered from a friend who is a die Designer  that  some of the Cheap dies are rip offs of other die designers products, so I try to be really careful with what I buy and so far I don’t seem to have picked up any of her designs…   but she has found them  for sale other places and I can imagine these designers are losing a lot of money… so if it doubt.. support your favorite designers.  A few extra pennies to keep these fab designs  flowing our way.. totally worth it.

We all love cheap craft  supplies, but I wouldn’t intentionally buy a knock off ..  that is just wrong to me and we need to support these designers and manufacturers who bring us such fab goodies.

anywho.. here is my latest haul.  I don’t have a huge amount of dies so try and fill in with some cheapies when I see things I like and will use frequently… and of course who can resist a few sentiments and holiday designs?  These new gears and clock face will be perfect with my KennyK Stamps steampunk projects

Craftsuprint Steampunk meets Gina Marie Designs

If you follow the blog you will have seen the recent 12×12 Steampunk page I did featuring “Brianna Blaster” from KennyK stamps and a Tina Fitch Craftsuprint clock cut file. The cogs that were used on that project for the background stencil and cog embellishments came from this kit, also by Tina Fitch. I personalized the cut file with some Gina Marie Dies.. using the lattice panel from the Lacey Lattice set I just bought and also added in a butterfly and sentiment, also cut from Gina Marie Dies.

Be sure to check out the recent post about weeding these intricate dies and the “crafters toothbrush”  and a couple of card projects using these dies in a much softer project.   Versatility  is very important to me, I’m on a tight budget and need my supplies to work for their keep ….it’s got to be something I can use again and again and get a fresh look each time.

The cogs were given a metallic finish using Faber Castell Gellato’s and the gold layer of the butterfly was a split from some dollar store gold glitter card. I split the glitter layer from the card layer to give it a thinner, softer touch. I love the cog section of this cut file… it’s such a great pattern and so useful for so many other projects too.  This one was cut from a SVG file on the Cricut Explore, but is available in other machine formats too.

Saucy card — Imagine that !!! lol

Who woulda thunk it huh.. me doing something a bit saucy.. huh LOL

Don’t panic it’s not THAT bad..but it’s definitely NOT a mermaid, or a cute fairy  ..sorry M.. no butterflies either lol.  This is the second of two images I picked up by new artists, to me at least.  This is

She was hand colored, then scanned into the computer so I could add some borders and print her out on Canvas Paper.  I frayed up the canvas edges… which sometimes is easier said than done, but I love that slightly grungy look.  This particular Canvas Paper is something I have had for YEARS…  but it isn’t widely available anymore   :/ I did find one place still selling it… www.consumercrafts.com in small packs of 2 if anyone wanted to give it a try.  Sadly, a lot of my specialty papers that I love are no longer available… so once I get through my stash… I shall have to look for alternatives.

She was colored with Chameleons and Zig Kurecolor,  my goto combo for most projects and a Zig Memory System Chalk Pen for the card background.. I love how nicely they play together 🙂  I added in some extra detail under the skirt area to give the impression of sheer frills…it’s kinda hard to see in the pics though.. sorry.

The image is “Arcadia Pin-Up” by ShadowClocksyDigis  which you can find on Etsy and also Facebook.  She is foam padded with a sheet of Darice Adhesive foam and the sentiment is a Heidi Swapp die.

“Brianna Blaster” Steampunk Scrapbook Album Cover

LOVED making this…. Another one of the fab cut files I picked up with my winnings over at CUP the other week.. well actually, technically it’s two lol. I swiped elements of another steampunk card by the same designer and added them in to this project showcasing her clock design.  You’ll get to see that one and more details later this week.

I am not totally sure if this will end up as an album cover or if it may end up in a shadow box frame… we shall see. Details and supplies are below the image.

The page is a 12×12 sheet from a Neutral Solid color pad by Craft Smith. I inked up the background using the larger cog cut out and a Craft Smart Dye ink pad.. very quick and haphazard..it’s intentionally patchy for the overall effect…. so a very easy technique for steampunk backgrounds.

Wink of Luna pens and playdoh

Just a real quick post… I am working on Part II of my recycling old playdoh post… and one of the  pieces I am decorating to use on the final projects..well it just looked so cool I had to share.  You will see more pieces later when the post is complete…. but for now, check this out.

That nasty old playdoh on the left was run through a Darice Embossing folder and left to dry after a quick 15 minute low bake in the oven to hurry it up a bit, it’s still a bit flexible..it almost has a tough old leather feel and flexibility to it.  I sprayed it with a black enamel spray and then I ran my new Wink of Luna metallic copper pen over it horizontally…. the  bits where I over shot the raised design… no brainer. I just rubbed it in with my finger and created that old rubbed bronze look.  This is going to be really cool for creating steampunk themed crafts….and if you are a follower, or message board member, you already know how much I love my kennyk steampunk digis.

My wink of Luna pen was provided  free of charge by www.winkofstella.com for an upcoming review. This is NOT my review. I just happen to have used it for another great project before I got started on it haha…. so look forward to seeing my review  on wink of Luna and wink of Stella pens coming soon 🙂
