I exploded Easter with this fun card filled with Gina Marie Designs die cuts. I have a bunch of new dies sitting on my desk ..along with a gazillion other things I haven’t even had a chance to pull out of their packaging and I decided I was going to get stuck in this week. I had no idea till I started just how well the dies I had were all going to pull together. If you are a regular Gina Marie Designs addict, you will most likely recognize most, if not all of these dies.. but for those of you who don’t, there is a list of supplies at the bottom of the post 🙂
Plenty of room for a sentiment if/ when needed too… just a fun, die crazy card… if you added a banner cut sentiment… that would make at least 7 GMD’s .. or a sentiment die too like the Happy Easter ..or 8 if you had the stitched sun from the stitched skies set.. which I don’t have YET !
I just finished up a few of the new cut files I got from CraftsUPrint the other week.. before the birthday shenanigans descended upon us LOL. What a week that was.. full of fun and games and Lego.. and cake… and a lot of Ice cream lol. But now it’s time to get back to my crafting and coloring.
Ok first up.. this is just a quickie plain card, no sentiment or foreground image.. but you could most certainly add them if and when you wanted to. I was just experimenting with inky skies and this fab new CityScape cut file I picked up. To be honest I have a larger project on the go right now using this… but it won’t be done for a bit. But this will give you an idea of how cool this CityScape is. cuts beautifully on my Cricut, even with all the window detail it has. There are some tiny nail bling rhinestones on this but they didn’t show up so well in this photo..
NEXT !! Lacy Ribbons 1 with spiral roses by Clive Coulter. This is a 3 cut set.. 2 ribbons and the spiral roses. I used one of the ribbons to create a background strip on this card along with one of the new frames I made with the new Gina Marie Designs Dies
Ok.. this one was just me playing with new stuff I have.. love this cut file, it reminds me of Morrocco for some reason… and I had some liquid pearls I picked up on clearance a while back.. so I was tinkering around. This is Compass Pattern by Lizzie Mayne I added some My little paper world stitched corners and some jade liquid pearls and lastly.. just having some fun with the latest batch of freebies I got in the Treasure chest.. who doesn’t love cup cakes huh? the base card is FANCY CARD 11 by Apetroae Stefan and the sentiment and cupcake are from the Treasure Chest Freebies you can select when you spend $15 or more ( $10 when on offer ) I only used the top two layers of the Decoupage .. so I still have the bottom layer for another project 🙂

So.. ready for a sneaky peek at a few more fancy frames using the Gina Marie Designs Die Collection? As you can tell I added a few more fun die sets to my collection this week .. so now I have even MORE combinations I can make up and play with.
I just ordered my final missing die that I REALLY wanted for this project, the Dot Stud Rectangles. The Dot Studs are the ones with the larger circle cuts…I have the circles now..as you can see in the picture and already had squares, but Rectangles were out of stock and I REALLY REALLY like the Dot Studs, so I had to go hunt a set down. I think these are my favorite of all the IN/Out dies…. I hope that gets here soon.
There are so many combinations for this technique… and it’s such a great way to get a Bonus cut from your in and outs… expect to see these A LOT in projects 🙂

Here is a quick look at something I was experimenting with. This is a scanned copy of something I colored, then printed on craft canvas and then it was die cut using the Gina Marie Designs Lacey Lattice set ( link addded..sorry Dee lol ) I got recently. I testing out some new double sided adhesive I bought.
I like the look of canvas prints and this works just as well as buying the Inkjet canvas paper .. but doesn’t have the same coating on it which some canvas papers have that I personally find too glossy.
When you are on a budget…and a very tight one…. sometimes you just have to give things a try and hope that cheap doesn’t always equate to “crap”. Now don’t get me wrong, these imported dies are most often NOT of the same ilk as the big brand names you are used to… BUT for the price… they are pretty dang good. They probably won’t last as long, but you should easily get your money’s worth out of them. As you all know I am not a huge flowery cutesie kinda gal, so I’m not going to be using and abusing these as often as some people would.
I ran these through my Big Shot on regular card and on Shrinky dink without any problem… well I say no problem, my Big Shot ( ok..it was probably me lol ) accidentally realigned one of my dies over another and when I ran it through .. you could tell it had bent the back of the die … BUT I have to say in all fairness it still cuts perfectly.
Ok ..sooo here it is a very CAS test card with my new dies. The flowers were cut on Shrinky Dink and shrunk, then colored with Chameleons and a rhinestone centered glued in place. If you want a smoother look to your coloring.. color THEN shrink.
The foliage was cut on 110lb scrap card stock and has embossing for veins… you just can’t see it in this photo.
Here’s a fun card…. it’s a slider card, but I won’t show you images of it open, as the message inside is personal…and not very PC haha. There are a gazillion tutorials on making slider cards… it isn’t hard to find them if you fancy giving it a go.
The slider frame has one of the My little Paper World corner die cuts, which you can see peaking out behind Bonzo ( Another group buy possibly coming up for anyone interested in purchasing Samantha’s dies and cutting shipping costs to the US ..PM me if interested )
The sentiment is part of the current Freebie Friday package for the progressive challenge over on the Scrapper’s Delights Facebook group, and also available in the store.
The dots were just punched circles using a green glitter stock and the slide tab has that glitter card on the tip too.
And that lady’s and gents is the end of this show…. this is my last project as part of the Scrapper’s Delights Freebie Friday DT team. I am stepping down and making room for a fab new DT member…. but never fear, I am still going to be working with Nicky on the Monthly Challenge Team and Mid Month Inspirations.
This clown isn’t going anywhere just yet 🙂
This is Circus Clown Bonzo In Car by Scrapper’s Delights. He is part of the current Circus Bundle and can be purchases separately or in the bundle…. which by the way is on sale right now.
Hi! My name is Merrie and I am doing a ‘roving reporter’ write up for CraftingCircle.
Last spring I was lucky and won a Gina Marie Designs ‘Sympathy’ die in a give-a-way on the CraftingCircle blog. It cut paper like butter, so I decided to see what else they had in their line. Imagine my surprise when I found out their store was in Michigan- and only half an hour from my son’s house. ROAD TRIP!
Due to personal reasons I wasn’t able to go until a few weeks ago. So, with my son, his girlfriend and her mother in tow- I headed to The Scrapbook Outlet. I was hoping to meet Gina herself. Unfortunately she wasn’t working that day, so I asked them to pass on a ‘hi’ from our group.
The store is small, but chock full of paper, stickers, stamps and of course dies! I must admit I did not check out the rest of the merchandise that closely. My focus was the GINA MARIE dies. I headed for them like a homing pigeon.
It was hard to narrow it down, but I finally picked out 10 (my budget).
I just got a fab new Gina Marie Die today, well two actually and a few more on the way lol…. but that is a whole nother blog post. Today I want to introduce you to this one particular die. Ok, so what has that got to do with Crafter’s Toothbrushes I hear you mumble… and what the hell is a “Crafter’s Toothbrush” anyway!! something crazy, new and expensive that I just have to add to my craftroom??
Never fear….we shall get there…. be patient grasshoppers. This is more for the new crafter’s, but may be useful to some seasoned veterans who haven’t already discovered it.
I have to admit I did get a good giggle from the description… not only do I love Gina’s Designs and her prices are fabulous… but she’s honest to a fault lol.
“PLEASE NOTE! The inner lattice panel is VERY tiny and petite. That means you could need to shim or use a precision plate and that there will be LOTS of little pieces. I like to be honest about my products. It is a beautiful set and cuts great you just need to have knowledge to make it work best with your machine.”
Now we all have those dies that have the most gorgeous designs, but take forever to weed out the offcuts… well you might…. LOL .. NOT ME haha.
I have the almighty Crafters Toothbrush.
Ok enough messing around… a quickie video to show you all how quick and easy it is to clean up these gorgeous intricate cuts. My regular Sizzix cutting plates are shall we say a tad worn and as warped as I am….so you wouldn’t really see much, so I skipped right to the clean up.
I ran my new dies through my Big shot on said old and warped plates… no shims needed, using 110lb card stock. I popped them out of the Big Shot, now pay attention… this really helps.. DO NOT pop them out of the dies. If they pop out anyway.. not a huge deal.. but it’s quicker if you keep them in the dies. Specially if you didn’t get a good, clean all over pressure cut the first time round.
Flip that baby over die side up and here comes the Crafters Toothbrush … old, new, electronic, Colgate, mickey mouse .. who cares… grab a toothbrush and brush the back side of your dies…and watch those tiny pieces pop right out.
(no audio needed unless you have a toothbrush fetish ..I recorded this last night while everyone was in bed ..so no voice overs)
If you have a few reluctant ones… you can used the brush in an up and down motion to pop them out. For those overly reluctant ones that didn’t get enough pressure, I find a quick re-run through my Big Shot will fix that right up… then flip and continue with your tooth brush.
When all of your weeding is done… pop the cut out of the die and there you go.. one clean die cut lacy piece.. nice n easy 🙂
Always keep a toothbrush in your tool box…. 🙂
New Projects coming over the weekend with the new Gina Marie Designs dies that just arrived in the mail 🙂
