It’s shakey shaker window time again…

I just got a new batch of shaker windows in..  new shapes and sizes.  This time I have 3″ Square, 2.5″ round and some 2×3′ rectangles to add to the 3″ circles I already have.  I haven’t had a chance to bust them open and make any projects yet…. but expect to see some later this month. These are all 1/4 ” high as usual, so lots of room if you want to try out the fun shaker card games I make.

In the meantime…. leave a comment below telling me what new craft goodies you just got, or what you would make with these….and I’ll pick a random person and send you a mixed pack to play with.  And since I am feeling very nice and relaxed after my much needed mini-vacation… I won’t even restrict  it to US only entries this time.

Decoupage Wall Plaque “Baby Boy Blues”

I was playing around with ideas again.. you know how that goes LOL.

I picked up some of these cheap wood blanks at Walmart… I only went in for milk honest.

2 gallons of milk and $50 of craft supplies later…. haha ..oops…and I had some fun stuff to play with for me and the lil man.

Now cute isn’t really my thing, but I still like to have a play around with ideas and  try new things…and sometimes I get a does of the “cuties”.  I think that is how you learn what you like and don’t like; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t…. but you will never know unless you try.

What I loved about this one was the soft Wedgewood style color Palette ….what I didn’t love…. sticking on what felt like a gazillion tiny flowers and  pearl cabochons.  But I like how  the flower clusters turned out on it…it’s a very handy die, I just wish it did more than one at a time.  I can see a few places I think I probably should have added a few stray flowers, but it’s so easy to  go too far and OVERKILL strikes  lol.

Anywho here she is, this is my  New Release project for Cute As A Button “My Baby Boy” . The idea would work with a photo instead of a digi image too.

Bye Bye 2016.. it’s been…interesting!

I think this card pretty much says it all… what a year that was.

The image is Olympic Runner from KennyK Stamps, colored with Chameleon Pens on Canson Mix Media. The background is inked out with Tim Holtz Distress ink and it was mounted on a glam gold glitter card.

A quick, fun New Year card for anyone who  just wanted to get as far away from 2016 as possible, as fast as possible.

This card is part of our current Crafty Awesomeness Challenge, which is sponsored by KennyK for the month of January.  Please come on over and join in… details at the top of the page.

CAS Arched card with love birds design feature

What a fun design and so  versatile…. this would make a great base for a Wedding, Anniversary ….or even Valentines Day card.

I stayed very clean and classy with this one and didn’t add in a sentiment.  The Card design itself is a Rae Carr Cut file ”  211 Two Birds Arched Card”  that I picked up in my last haul on CUP.

The decorative corner element is made up of a mixture of Gina Marie Designs dies (see below), Off cuts from a Martha Stewart punch for the petal effect and a white glittery flower with large stone was from a bargain bin embellishment bucket at Michaels… as were the silver pearl Cabochons.

Fern Dies

Tiny flower die –  is actually the center portion of my X stitch rectangle set, how cool is that  🙂

Happy Mail Time – New Gina Marie Design Dies

I just got some happy mail…  I ordered a  few new dies, something I am sorely lacking in.  I love the Gina Marie Designs dies, lots of variety and fab prices.  Shipping is very reasonable too

I picked up these 3 new nature dies, perfect for  the over-sized Christmas cards I have on my to do list  🙂  Can’t wait to try these out properly.

I just did a quick test cut with these. I double up the card to get some clean cuts and some embossed effects and  layers.. these pine cone dies are very cool.  I inked up the left hand one to show what  it’s like with the two layers together. Center ones are more embossed, not cut through and the one on the right is like a negative of the left hand cone.  It had the top frame removed and only the off cuts remained for a textured cone. .. pretty dang cool.

Here are the links for anyone interested … and I’ll have projects coming up this month using these too.
