Vintage monotone “Shabby Card” with fancy edge

I’d been wanting to  use this image for a while now, but was waiting for the right project to fall in to place.  It’s one of the older Scrapper’s Delights images and has more detail and shadowing  than the newer style images… but lends itself perfectly to this vintage “shabby” look.  Because of the style it’s incredibly  quick and easy to  achieve this look, even if you aren’t a regular colorer.

Pencils and an alcohol blender pen.. a round stiff bristle brush and an ink pad…  no  hardcore precise coloring skills needed.  Even my 4 year old can dry ink these vintage shabby style backgrounds… in fact, if I recall he “hijacked” helped do this one lol.

The fancy edge border card is a cut file from CraftsUPrint “Over the Edge Floral Border 6”
Image is  Holly Hobbie Set 4
Colored with CraZart pencils, a home made alcohol blender pen and some Ranger Distress inks.  Fancy border has a Gelly Roll Stardust outline for a “lil bling”.

3/4 fold Christmas card

Really quick n simple 3/4 fold card that could be used for a variety of things….money card, gift card holder, or a fun 3/4 fold Christmas card… with matching envelope.

Image was printed on 110lb Georgia Pacific Index card, colored with my usual mix of Chameleon, Zig Kurecolor  and some Ranger Distress Markers…with a touch of Wink of Stella for some glam.
pixie_dust_wmdThe inside of the card was then lined with a glitter card stock.. nothing fancy, just dollar store card .. but it gives a  touch of glam and glitz to the card and strengthens the design for mailing if necessary.  The 3/4 edge was punched with a Martha Stewart Punch by the name of Aspen.  a co-ordinating strip was added to a matching envelope along with some matching snowflakes.

This image is a Scrapper’s Delights Image “Winter Elf Digi

I really like the Tim Holtz “Tumbled Glass”  pen for ice and snow effects and for adding a touch of color and shading to white fabrics etc. on images.

To turn it into a cash/gift card/ticket holder etc.. simply  glue/tape down the top and bottom edges of the 3/4 fold…and Voila…. insta pocket.

It’s Elementary Dear Watson!

2cute_logoI just joined the 2 Cute Inks Stamps Club earlier today… got all my stamps downloaded and went to poke around the shop to see what else there was… and Lo and behold. I found me two cute digis I just had to have… well actually I bought more than two.. but heh.. for this blog post, we are just concentrating on two.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson …..Mouses…..

Too pigging cute!!

Well the thing is, I was getting a bit burnt out and decided to close out my facebook chats and all that stuff and go be antisocial for a few hours and have fun. And the result is.. the beginnings of a 10 card noteset ..which will have a matching envelope.

It’s a fun project..I get to goof off with my sketchy style of coloring.. make a mess with distress inks and let my sense of humor run loose for a few hours. This is just 2 of 10, I’ll post the entire project ..all 10 cards and matching chunky envelope container when I am done.
