Humorous 3 Column Stepper card

Oh what fun I had with this one…. another one of the fun cut files I picked up with my CraftsUPrint winnings ¬†ūüôā

This card design has so many possibilities; I kept this one pretty “PC” ¬†but the potential for sarcastic humor …. limited only by your own imagination. ¬†The base card itself is so versatile for any occasions… cute, sweet, sassy and downright naughty….¬†and suitable for any occasion. ¬†I can see me using this design in future projects.

The images, as I am sure most of you are already aware of ….Bugaboo Stamps. ¬†How could I not include good ol’ Stella in a card like this. ¬†These were colored with Zig Kurecolor and Chameleon markers and a touch of Marvy detailer & Wink of Stella. ¬†I then scanned and reprinted them with the border at the size I needed for the columns. I left the space below the images blank specifically for ¬†adding in other ¬†less PC humor, ¬†but of course that is entirely optional.

The CraftsUPrint cut file ¬†by Rae Carr was cut on the Cricut Explore, on an 11×17 sheet of Neenah¬†110lb card stock to create an oversized card.

The title was designed in PSP and printed  then layered on.

The speedometer features a moving needle for that personal touch..with a cute inlaid pearl heart brad .. to soften the blow LOL.

Mixing it up a bit – Digital Tweaking!

Some of you already know that I was so Hand-coloring phobic last year and my coloring was all done digitally. Here’s a mixed piece I did in the wee hours of this morning.

The Original Image was colored by hand and then I imported it into my computer to watermark it ….and got a bit carried away lol. Now if you are going to do this, I recommend Scanning your image in. I wasn’t planning to do this… so mine was just from a photograph, but you get the idea.

One of the things I love about my new Epson Eco Tank printer, is not having to worry about printing out large full color images… and running out of ink LOL.

It’s very quick and easy to go from this:

To THIS ……cutebuttonwmd_frmd

Just a wave of the magic wand, ¬†drop shadow, ¬†and some of the presets like add borders and texture effects… and Bingo!!… ¬†your image is now framed and ready to print.

  • Image – ¬†Cute as a Button “Moving Day” ¬†colored with Chameleon Pens, Ranger Distress Pens and ¬†Zig Memory System writers. Printed on 110lb card stock
  • Digital Addons – I worked in my trusty old¬†Jasc¬†Paint Shop Pro7, it’s a great program for beginners and you can still pick up a copy on Ebay at a decent price now and then.

Don’t be afraid to mix your techniques and ideas when crafting… it’s a lot of fun and handy when you don’t have the physical papers, or embellishments at hand.

Starting a big card project – 1 down

I am working on a big card project for a friend.. she wants a mix of cards for various occasions. I have free reign on design so that will be fun and I can play around with ideas and styles. Here is one I made…. it’s a welcome to the neighborhood/moving in card.

I kept the coloring cartoonish/childish to match the image ..I think it’s kinda cute. Nice and quick, simple card.
