12×12 Framed Scrapbook page

I love messing around with  12×12 …. but I am not a scrapbooker.  I prefer to frame them and use them as art instead, so…. here’s another fun framed art.. very simple but cute.
The image was print and cut on the Cricut Explore, colored with Chameleon Pens and then attached with Zig 2 Way glue to a 12×12 sheet of paper I acquired from a fellow crafter who was de-stashing.

There is plenty of room  for a poem, or a Sentiment if so inclined …

This image is Girls Happy Trio by Bugaboo stamps  who is  the sponsor for our Monthly Bugaboo Crafty Challenge.  Whether you are a card maker, or dabble in  other craft forms.. these images are so much fun to color and use…so grab your Bugaboo’s and come on over and show us your style.

Another fun digital stamp… Sugar Plum, or Nutcracker?

I love this one…. it just made me smile. We’re all so worried about appearances and what is socially acceptable nowadays and fitting in… who the hell wants to just “fit in”????

..and this image, “Ballerina Lady” by Gordon Fraser just screams

I LOVE LIFE !

No matter what shape, size, age, color or even color of your hair..tattoos, no tattoos, peircings, no peircings…… grab life by the ..’Nutcrackers’ and enjoy it.. you only get one.

Who doesn’t love a baby elephant?

Here is card No.1 of 2 for the newest Crafty Awesomeness Challenge which is sponsored by.. Sasayaki Glitter this month. The team got to choose two images.. so being a team of 4 .. we let two of the girls pick an image this month and the other two will choose next time. We’ve been friends so long now, that we know each other well enough to know what images we can all work with.. and which ones we can  choose to give the others a  nudge outside the box..without going too  far… * cough haha that would be me LOL

So here she is… I say she, simply because I gave her pink toe nails and a pink bow.  I have plans to make a  few more of these in blue and gender neutral colors too, it’s just such a cute image and perfect for baby showers, 1st birthdays, gender reveals, announcements etc.

This is Baby Elly’s Birthday by Sasayaki Glitter
Printed on an Epson Ecotank on Canson Mix Media  paper
Colored with  Crayola Color Escapes pencils and blended with Isopropyl alcohol.
The image was then cut with a Gina Marie Designs Die from the “LACEY LATTICE RECTANGLE DIE SET”  on the Sizzix Big Shot ( check out my post about this set &  the crafters toothbrush here )
Attached with Zig Kuretake Photo Tape

A very soft and cutesie CAS (clean and Simple)card….

Guest Designer – Lil ‘ Man D – Thank You card and Bookmark

You may have seen  my posts on Facebook last week about my lil man and his first watercolor project…. well he was at it again tonight  🙂

My little man was given an early birthday present last weekend by a lady who works with hubby, so this is her Thank You card and a little book mark for her to use in her Bible, or other reading matter.  Now it goes without saying, since he is only 4 …. that he had a little help …SURPRISE !! lol.  But the painting is all him.

He may be a crafty wee soul, but  this mommy isn’t ready to let him lose  with a laminator and glue all by himself .. my sanity is questionable at the best of times .. but not THAT bad haha.  Unlike someone we won’t mention by name who’s grandson glued himself up trying to apply “lotion” to his legs whilst visiting her craft room last week lol…. sorry.. I am still giggling over that one .. my bad.

The images he colored are :

Image #13 – Heart Ants – by Sasayaki Glitter & a section cropped from Pure Prairie Bouquet by Power Poppy.

The card and bookmark were colored using Gansai Tambi watercolors and a Zig Kuretake H2o brush.

The card  is a hot pink 5×6.5″ from a multicolor pack at Michaels
A background layer of rough cut 65lb black Recollections card from the value packs
The image is printed on Canson Mix Media Paper on my Epson Eco Tank and also had a rough cut edging. I added the sentiment “There is beauty in creation” and a border to the image before printing.  This was also foam popped on a Darice adhesive foam sheet and attached using a double side tape. The card layers were  attached with Zig Photo Tape and the Sentiment which was a cheapie import die was attached with Tombow Aqua.

The Book mark is backed with a light tan 65lb card  with a hint of a border showing behind the image cut from the front, and I attached a tassle from a value pack at Michaels. I added a cute little bead  that I got  in a happy mail package from Francesca at Cute As A Button when she very kindly shared her destash items with the DT team 🙂  It says “Always” on one side and “Believe” on the other… pretty appropriate for a Bible Bookmark.

I hope you like it

🙂 One Proud Mommy

Finally..I completed my set of Chameleon Pens ..WOO HOO

I managed to pick up the last 10 of my missing colors just before Christmas and so I have been pushing myself to practice using these pens…. the way they were intended to be used lol.

I confessed previously, that I really haven’t used the blending chambers as much as I probably should have in the year I have had them..so now, I am determined to do  more with that side of their functionality.

The last two packs I needed were floral and warm tones;  so I picked out two of my new Power Poppy images  that I haven’t colored yet, printed them on Canson Mixed Media paper and had a play.  I am quite pleased with these…. they have a soft, almost vintage botanical catalog/book feel to them. I avoided the overly bright modern and strong look I usually favor & kept these two muted.  These were colored with a  mix of pens from the whole set, NOT just the two latest color packs.

I did pop in a shadow  outline effect using my H2o detailer brush and the printer ink from the image.

New Blog Post Addon -Slow Release Projects

I’m trying something new for this post, it’s a new addon I created for slow release posts. This post will gradually appear over a period of 24 hours and should display in it’s entirety by tomorrow night.  I am assured there are no side effects to this slow release technology.. so it will be interesting to see how effective it is.

This is my Freebie Friday Project for Scrapper’s Delights.  So grab your Freebie Friday Image and come join in on the Scrapper’s Delights Challenges. There are two challenges.. twice the fun and twice the chance to win!!! sd_ff_pixie_wmd

“Pixie Pan” is colored with Chameleon Pens and is the background for my shaker window. the shaker window is filled with tiny black and white dots. Musical Brads, flowers, pearl studs, an ivy cut file and some pink rhinestones surround a matching circular frame and the piece is mounted on a black foam padded base atop a hand striped pink base card.

Spotlight Series Day 22, Michelle- Pink and Main

Who are you?

13511419_1789103291309212_1538847675_n.png

I am Michelle, and I own Pink and Main. We sell clear stamps and dies, and have plans for more fun products in the future. I do the majority of the illustrating for the company, as well as everything else behind the scenes to keep the business going.

Pink and Main Store

When did you first start drawing/designing seriously

I first started designing and illustrating in 2011, when I started selling digital cutting files for electronic die-cutting machines. It was in 2013 that I started to think about turning some of my designs into stamps. I have always been a crafty girl, and having my own business doing what I love is a dream come true!

What a Hoot

PNM004-What-a-Hoot-Dies-Web__50932.1464120153.1280.1280

What was the first product you ever had for sale?

What-a-hoot This was the first stamp set I designed for Pink and Main from one of my existing illustrations. It has been one of my most popular sellers as well.

Favorite quote?

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” by Henry Ford

What  job did you have BEFORE you started  drawing/designing for a living?

I was a Medical Technologist in a hospital lab for 11 years.

What’s your favorite color?

Pink, what else?!?

What’s your favorite horror movie?

My mom loves horror movies, so I grew up enjoying them too. I love them still, and have a hard time choosing a favorite. I do really like ‘The Ring’ and ‘Dawn of the Dead’, but some of the older films from the 80’s are great too.

Which decade do you think had the best music?

I am a child of the 80’s and I still love to listen to the music from then. Turn up the radio, Madonna is on!

What do you love most about all the people you meet through your work?

I have met some of the most wonderful people! I travel to vendor some conventions and have met and encountered the sweetest people you will ever meet! I have also met some other designers/creators in the industry and they could not have been nicer. I think it is wonderful to meet people who share the same passion for our craft, and support one another.

PM0180_magical_unicorns_4x6_web__39324.1460676298.1280.1280

Which drawing/product are you the most proud of in your collection?

If you asked me 10 years ago if I thought I could make a career at drawing, I would have laughed. I guess I never knew what I could do until I tried and practiced. I went to school for medical technology, so I had to teach myself to illustrate using the computer. It has been a hard road, but has been fun too, and I am most proud of these cute unicorns I recently illustrated. It makes my heart happy to know that others enjoy them as well.

Smart Bargains – Ribbon steals and deals WOW !

If you love ribbon..you need to check this place out. I was pretty surprised…. and pleasantly so I might add, to discover  a couple of new companies hidden away in the depth of my available affiliate programs.  This one instantly caught  my attention with a $10 coupon and the awesome deals I found in their smart bargain section…they should have called it Panda HAUL.. every crafter loves a good haul.

“Smart Bargains are great deals on limited quantity jewelry-making supplies. Enjoy outlet store pricing on findings, gemstone beads, pearls, glass beads, tools and much more. Shop awesome assortments that are bargain priced to sell fast.”

I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t have a huge selection of ribbons…. I buy a bit here and there as I can afford them  …. but this place.. crazy prices.. I saw ribbons as low as 8 cents a meter.

pandahall_paris

The other thing I noticed is they sell it by the meter, or full rolls  🙂  I really liked this one, it would be fab for the vintage travel and Paris stamps I have.  1″ BurlyWood Color Eiffel Tower Printed Grosgrain Ribbons

It’s limited quantity and is available in various colors… 20 cents a meter..or $15.96 for 100 yards.

pandahall_pink cross

…or how about this… 7 cents a meter, $3.40 for 100 yards.

Grosgrain Ribbon, DeepPink, 6mm

Shipping seems reasonable if you don’t mind waiting a bit for your bargains…

pandahall coupon

and I noticed this

Sign up and they email you a $10 off a $30 or more order…. so that would make your shopping spree even more fabtastic.  At bargain prices like these, that is a LOT of ribbon LOL.  But they do more than just ribbons, if you make jewelry, or like to add charms etc  to your craft projects… they have those too.  Or you can use that $10 off to grab some tools or extra goodies that aren’t on sale.

If you come to check this out later and can’t find this old post buried in the depth of the CC archive.. never fear.. I added them to my affiliate store list in the shopping  at the top of the page.  I think I might have to bust open the old piggy bank and see if I can shake up some pennies for this one.. There are some fab deal !
