Guest Designer – Lil’ Man D ( 4yrs old ) laminated bookmarks

We had to go get new tires the other day and my lil guy.. much as he loves the dealership and checking out all of the cars and trucks..specially the trucks ( he is just like his daddy when it comes to trucks lol ) .. he gets bored after a while.  So this time I decided to take along my portable easel box I showed you in a previous post earlier this week and watercolors  in case they came in handy… plus it was a great way to test it out and see how well it worked out.

They have a seating area with comfy chairs, but also a large eating area with vending machines and coffee etc and part of that is a long bar area with bar stools…and lots of natural light from the big windows.  So we sat down  with some snacks and drinks and I started to color.. lol.. 2 seconds later as predicted “I want to color please mommy”

So here we go, these are 4 of the bookmarks he painted while we were waiting for our new tires.  I had already stamped everything out  on precut  strips of Canson Mix Media Paper and they were in the easel box ready to go with the H2o pen.  The easel box and the Gansai Tambi box are about the same size so easy to grab and go even without a bag.
I love this first Giraffe because he told me he was painting a rainbow on it too ..  I love his imagination, but I am sure glad he explains what some of it is sometimes haha.  Some of these will go to friends and relatives and others will go in the Abandoned Art box.  The Giraffe is a stamp we picked up at Michaels last month.  The father and daughter image is a Unity Stamp co stamp  that I stamped up for me to color, but he hijacked it haha

The finished pieces were mounted on some plain Recollections 65lb card stock and then laminated and a hole punched for them.  A little bit of ribbon and some beads and they will be all ready to go ūüôā

This portable easel with storage is great .. he loved it so much he asked for one of his own so he could bring his pens along next time too.  These boxes are small enough and light enough for a kid to easily carry around and if required .. you could easy pop on a carry handle or strap. Once his is finished,  he will be able to decorate it as he wishes. He loves to paint wooden blanks and boxes,  so I know whatever it is…. it will be UNIQUE  haha

Unity Stamp co. bookmarks for the Abandoned Art Bucket

I wanted to have a quick play before bed last night/this am ..I have had these stamps sitting here staring at me LOL. I had an old paperback of hubby’s sat here on my desk for a while now too. He no longer wanted it and I didn’t want to waste it..so it was a toss up between upcycling it, or finding a new home for it. I am sure it was a fabulous story… but upcycling won.

I see this as a fitting tribute to the author who will now be enjoyed by a¬†potential 322 people if I were to ¬†use the complete book to make bookmarks for Abandonment projects. That’s a pretty good audience, even if they only get to read snippets of it. ¬†Even if I had given it away complete….I doubt it would have ever reached that many people.

I may try that idea next….. like the old Where’s George site for $ bills. I could do a “WheresJim.com” and see how far a book travels; assuming of course the book is by an author called Jim, like this one. ¬†It might be fun to do it with a kids book… hmm, idea to tuck away for when I have some spare time ¬†ūüôā

I have a bunch of stuff to take care of between now and tomorrow night. A new month is coming and that means Lots of projects and new challenges to be set up and winners to be picked.

So.. quickie description…

One page ripped in half… inked up with Ranger Distress ink pads
Stamps were inked with Good ol Craft Smart Dye ink
Colored with a mix of Zig Kurecolor and a ranger Distress pen.. feather has a touch of Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust
Mounted on Kraft card stock with Zig Photo Tape
laminated on a Scotch TL901 using Scotch laminating pouches
Trimmed up with my new Swingline guillotine ( see previous post)
Hole punched using a Fiskars 1/4 punch
Boho /shabby ribbon was a gift from a friend who was de-stashing

Stamps are Part of the Story & Scattered Pieces

It’s been a crazy month…. update news!

updatesSome of you already know from the Crafting Circle Facebook Page that October was a CraZEEEEE month here ¬†and may have noticed the slow down in posting recently… but thankfully most of that is ¬†taken care of now and aside from the unpacking reorganizing and some maintenance work that needs to be done this month….. I’m back on track and raring to go again. ¬†November will be a crazy month for great deals just in time for Christmas..so I’ll be updating banners and affiliate shopping pages etc. this month and hopefully we’ll find some great deals.

The new Blitsy store page just went up.. ¬†I am so excited about this years Blitsy Pyjama Party. ¬†If you haven’t ¬†ever attended one.. you really should try and join in..it’s a lot of fun, lots of great crafters, craft challenges and product info allll night long ..as well as some great Black Friday deals..and of course..THOSE SCISSORS… just one of the great things you can win at the PJ Party and possibly in your order.

I’ll be updating a lot of the affiliate banners, adding in some fab ¬†new vendors too… some are affiliates..some will just be ¬†vendors I really love to shop ¬†at myself. ¬†Be sure to check back throughout the month, or subscribe to the blog for email updates on ¬†new posts etc.

I am cutting back on my DT ¬†projects a bit and will be concentrating more on other avenues … so don’t worry ..there will still be lots of projects.. but more variety and ¬†hopefully some fun new things to try.

I’ll be working on some fun Christmas gift and Decor projects with the lil guy in the next month so ¬†I hope you enjoy those too. ¬†He is 4 and a half now so we are starting to experiment more with new ideas….and of course Art Abandonment projects… we’ll be doing more of those in 2017 too.

For anyone who is interested.. maybe even some fun video spots in the ¬†future.. ¬†We don’t do serious..so expect them to be lighthearted and fun….and probably MESSY !! lol

Oh.. and for anyone who is interested .. the shaker¬†card windows / pouches probably won’t be available again till after Christmas. ¬†There is one left on Ebay and I probably won’t be restocking these again on Ebay till the new year. …sooo if you wanted a pack between now and January you can PM me on Facebook and see if I have any available. ¬†I’ve been planning to add some new shapes and sizes in ¬†but ¬†just haven’t had time.. so hopefully those will also be available in the New Year.

Stitched Dies – ScrapbookOutlet & Lil Inker Designs

I may have mentioned I have been having a little shopping Spree this month…. *grin

shaker 3
One of the things I have been looking for is stitched dies to use with my shaker card windows. One of our ladies has these fab stitched dies Die-namics – My  Favorite Things which I have coveted for a while..and yes… I’ll be getting some of those too :).  So I went on a shopping expedition looking for some stitched dies.  I ran across a message board post that mentioned Scrapbook Outlet dies and they had a lot of nice things to say about them.. not only quality but the price too.

We all know stitched dies aren’t cheap… well guess what…

They aren’t the double stitched dies I had been looking at.. but I picked up a bunch of single stitch dies from Scrapbook Outlet  at a fab price and also a Die from another company Lil Inker Designs which is quite unique.  I am hoping that these work well in combo with each other and some dies I already have.. we shall see, they should be here early next week.  Just in time to use them for the February challenges over on the message board  and  of course the KennyK Group challenges twice a month ūüôā

By the way for anyone interested,  there is a  Design Team Call over at Lil Inker Designs. I’d love to  try out for that, they have some great products…. but I’m not sure I could compete with all the fab card makers who would love that position.  I’ll be posting  Design Team Call information in another post shortly.

LID_Stitched_Mats_Dual_Stitched_Rectangles__37869.1426717645.1280.1280

Anywho, back to the Dies… what really caught my eye on the Lil Inkers Die I bought was ..One ..the size and Two the design.  I am really hoping that their ratios match some of my other dies so I can mix and match for some unique designs of my own… we shall see. You know me..I like to experiment.

Check this Die range out, it’s pretty cool.  I know I’ll be back for some of the others myself, the thrifty crafters out there are going to love these because of the way they utilize the negative and positive…. we all love less paper waste and time saving..right!

“The largest die in this set cuts an A2 stitched rectangle- something that we’ve not yet featured in any of our rectangle sets. Now you have a stitched rectangle the exact size of your card base! The remaining three dies in this set feature our exclusive Dual Stitching on the inside and outside of the cut line which can be used in so many fun and creative ways!”

The other dies I bought are from Scrapbook Outlet.  Now these are  just single stitch dies, but you can’t beat the price on these and I read good things about the quality of these too. I think these will work nicely with other dies I have….. and intend to have *grin.

The Dies I got are in the  *** GINA MARIE DESIGNS *** range  on the site…and I couldn’t resist a few extras while I was there  lol.

I also picked up a Rectangle and Square set in the X stitch design , a “Welcome” Die,  a really cool key embossing folder which will be perfect for a project I am working on and a couple of clearance stamps.

I’m super excited  to get my hands on all these new goodies and get cracking on some challenge cards… so  expect to see a bunch of card projects towards the end of this month while I play catch up.

Update on Shaker Card Windows on Ebay

snowballs2_wm
Just an FYI for anyone who was thinking about ordering the shaker card window pouches before Christmas.

Last date to ship these out will be November 30th. ¬†I’ll resume Ebay listings again in January and hopefully there will also be some 3 inch square windows ¬†shortly after that too.

I’m still debating on whether to get 3 inch squares or 2×3 inch rectangles next.

** the balls  for the game cards now come in various colors 4.5mm metal and 6mm plastic red, green, white, blue & black and a mixed pack of about 40 is included in the 10 packs of windows.
