Printed Craft Canvas Panel

Here is a quick look at something I was experimenting with.  This is a scanned copy of something I colored,  then printed on craft canvas and then it was die cut using the Gina Marie Designs Lacey Lattice set ( link addded..sorry Dee lol ) I got recently.  I testing out some new double sided adhesive  I bought.

I like the look of canvas prints and this works just as well as buying the Inkjet canvas paper .. but doesn’t have the same coating on it  which some canvas papers have  that I personally find too glossy.

If Star Wars was written by a woman…..

Not everyone is a big fan of circus’s and clowns.. or bad humor.  BUT you had to have one or the other… and this is me and my blog so if you are a regular visitor you will know I  like to put a different twist on images sometimes.  I don’t always use things in the way they were intended… and that’s ok.  The great thing about art and crafting is  we all have our own spin on things, our own sense of humor and our own set of friends..crazy or otherwise.

The original is colored with a mix of Chameleon, Zig Kurecolor and Ranger distress pens then imported and reprinted with the sentiment.  She will be “abandoned” with a forever stamp for someone to find and mail on, or keep.

If you want to make postcards, be sure to check your Post Office website to make sure you are within the guidelines they issue.  Here they have very specific min and max sized and weight of cards for postcard mailings. I shall pop a quick spray of clear coat over the top to protect the card face and  then she is good to go on her merry way, wherever she may roam.

Mixing it up a bit – Digital Tweaking!

Some of you already know that I was so Hand-coloring phobic last year and my coloring was all done digitally. Here’s a mixed piece I did in the wee hours of this morning.

The Original Image was colored by hand and then I imported it into my computer to watermark it ….and got a bit carried away lol. Now if you are going to do this, I recommend Scanning your image in. I wasn’t planning to do this… so mine was just from a photograph, but you get the idea.

One of the things I love about my new Epson Eco Tank printer, is not having to worry about printing out large full color images… and running out of ink LOL.

It’s very quick and easy to go from this:

To THIS ……cutebuttonwmd_frmd

Just a wave of the magic wand,  drop shadow,  and some of the presets like add borders and texture effects… and Bingo!!…  your image is now framed and ready to print.

  • Image –  Cute as a Button “Moving Day”  colored with Chameleon Pens, Ranger Distress Pens and  Zig Memory System writers. Printed on 110lb card stock
  • Digital Addons – I worked in my trusty old Jasc Paint Shop Pro7, it’s a great program for beginners and you can still pick up a copy on Ebay at a decent price now and then.

Don’t be afraid to mix your techniques and ideas when crafting… it’s a lot of fun and handy when you don’t have the physical papers, or embellishments at hand.
