I don’t know why exactly, but I loved this design the minute I saw it and had to grab it. This is one of my recent CUP cut files by Judith Henry called “Seasonal Tree Silhouette”
This is a super simple card… I just took the design, cut the card base and inked it up in this old letter style background using a couple of text stamps I have. I added on the green foliage layer which is cut from 65lb Recollections green card and then popped a beautiful velvet paper cut tree on top using black SEI velvet paper (see below) which you can pick up at Michaels in black or red. Velvet paper is great for these intricate cuts, the paper cuts like a dream on my Cricut Explore and I love using this. Add on the fact it just feels so dang cool and adds a little extra something something to your cards. The design does come with birds too, but I chose not to add those to this project… but you can see them on the original design.
Currently the 12×12 Velvet paper is available online at Michaels for $1 per sheet instead of $1.99.

I was trolling around on social media looking for you new craft sites and crafters…. and I ran across this lady on facebook, naturally I had to check out the blog. You should too ! She has some really cool projects.. which reminded me how far behind I am on posting new projects.
Naturally the steampunk one caught my eye…
I really like this card, it’s a lot more subtle than my usual style.. but something about it just appeals.
Excited I am in issue 61 docrafts Creativity Magazine
Another post I really like that caught my eye was this one.
I used to glass paint many moons ago and I’ve been thinking lately about dragging out my glass paints to see if I can stamp with them… or seeing if I can stamp and emboss on glass with regular inks.
Embossing and stamping on alternative surfaces is one of my experimental things right now. You may have seen mention of that in previous posts. So when I saw this, I instantly perked up and paid attention.
Shabby Chic cushion
She’s very talented and it’s not just limited to cards and stamping either…. check out this beautiful pillow.
