How many GMD dies can you fit on one card project?

.. at least 6 LOL

I exploded Easter with this fun card filled with Gina Marie Designs die cuts.  I have a bunch of new dies sitting on my desk ..along with a gazillion other things I haven’t even had a chance to pull out of their packaging and I  decided I was going to get stuck in  this week.  I had no idea till I started just how well the dies I had were all going to pull together.  If you are a regular  Gina Marie Designs  addict, you will most likely recognize most, if not all of these dies.. but for those of you who don’t, there is a list of supplies at the bottom of the post  ūüôā

Plenty of room for a sentiment if/ when needed too…  just a fun, die crazy card… if you added a banner cut sentiment… that would make at least 7 GMD’s .. or a sentiment die too like the Happy Easter ..or 8 if you  had the stitched sun from the stitched skies set.. which I don’t have YET !

Sneaky Peek.. You’ve been Framed !

So.. ready for a sneaky peek at a few more  fancy frames using the Gina Marie Designs Die Collection?  As you can tell I added a few more fun die sets to my collection this week .. so now I have even MORE combinations I can make up and play with.

I just ordered my final missing ¬†die that I REALLY wanted for this project, the Dot Stud Rectangles. ¬† The Dot Studs are the ones with the larger circle cuts…I have the circles now..as you can see in the picture and ¬†already had squares, but Rectangles were ¬†out of stock and I ¬†REALLY REALLY like ¬†the Dot Studs, so I had to go¬†hunt a set down. ¬†I think these are my favorite of all the IN/Out dies…. ¬†I hope that gets here soon.

There are so many combinations for this technique… and it’s such a great way to get a Bonus cut from your in and outs… expect to see these ¬†A LOT in projects ūüôā

Nesting more dies for pretty frames again

I pulled out two more die sets¬†to play with…. so here you go.. this is a frame made with 2 Gina Marie Designs dies sets. I personally nest and cut these at the same time using my¬†We R Memory Keepers Genius Ultimate Magnetic Platform¬†on my Sizzix Big Shot… but you could cut each die one at a time if you wanted to. ¬†

You will need at least one set of in and out or dual stitched dies to make these.. but you could just use a plain die ¬†if you wanted a simple cut instead of two fancy ones. ¬†Just pay attention to where the cut lines are on your dies. ¬†I single stitched die would give you a simple¬†inside to the frame but give you a stitched¬†panel from the internal¬†cut.. so you still get two usable¬†pieces ¬†ūüôā

¬†I’ll pop in ¬†additional posts, as and when I have ¬†fun cut combos to share ¬†ūüôā

Bonus ….Custom cut frames with Gina Marie Dies!

Time to get busy and knock out some sample combos.. these dies are going to be so much fun.  They are fabulous as intended with the in and out cuts; but they are even better when you start doubling them up to make frames

… and even better when you start making combos.
I had a quick play with some of my dies and came up with this one which I really like.  These frames are made up of :

MINI HEART LACE SQUARE DIE SET – GINA MARIE DESIGNS

and  the

DOT STUDS ON BOTH SIDES OF CUTTING LINE SQUARE – GINA MARIE DESIGNS

and then this image shows all THREE cuts
…and here is a sneaky peek at another combo…so stay tuned for more of these fun frames.  I wonder how many combos I can come up with without ordering any more new dies lol.  Although there are a few I might just have to grab to expand my frames capabilities lol.  These were made using my We R Memory Keepers Genius Ultimate Magnetic Platform on my Sizzix Big Shot

Decoupage Wall Plaque “Baby Boy Blues”

I was playing around with ideas again.. you know how that goes LOL.

I picked up some of these cheap wood blanks at Walmart… I only went in for milk honest.

2 gallons of milk and $50 of craft supplies later…. haha ..oops…and I had some fun stuff to play with for me and the lil man.

Now cute isn’t really my thing, but I still like to have a play around with ideas and ¬†try new things…and sometimes I get a does of the “cuties”. ¬†I think that is how you learn what you like and don’t like; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t…. but you will never know unless you try.

What I loved about this one was the soft Wedgewood style color Palette ….what I didn’t love…. sticking on what felt like a gazillion tiny flowers and ¬†pearl cabochons. ¬†But I like how ¬†the flower clusters turned out on it…it’s a very handy die, I just wish it did more than one at a time. ¬†I can see a few places I think I probably should have added a few stray flowers, but it’s so easy to ¬†go too far and OVERKILL strikes ¬†lol.

Anywho here she is, this is my ¬†New Release project for Cute As A Button “My Baby Boy” . The idea would work with a photo instead of a digi image too.

“Catch of the Day” fun fishing themed card

I picked up another fun new cut file in my latest traipse over at CUP,  Tri-Fold Scalloped Top Card by one of my favorite SVG designers, Rae Carr.
cup_fishies

I recently picked up some new Gina Marie Dies “Gone Fishing” and ¬†I had ¬†grabbed this fun image from Bugaboo Stamps called¬†Girlz – wiggle the bait¬†to go with them. ¬†Well as it happens, I have been waiting for ¬†just the right project to use the paper stack I won from DCWV a few months back.. and this was it! ¬†It’s a gorgeous paper stack called Coastal, filled with all sorts of cool ¬†card sheets.. including some pearl foiled and printed linen pages. cup_fishies2 cup_fishies3
I added in a dual stitched frame ¬†using my Lil’Inkers dies and added the catch of the day chalkboard look using a Zig Chalk Pastel Pen. ¬†The inside ¬†net was created using the lattice portion of the Gina Marie Lacey Lattice die set I got a month or so back. ¬†The fish was colored with Tim Holtz Distress ink pads, as was the chalk board frame and the nets and rod.

The base card was cut from a Craft Smith solid color card stack on my Cricut Explore and the image was printed on Canson Mixed Media, then colored with Chameleon Pens.

Adhesives for this project were Zig Photo Tape and Zig 2 way glue.

I was naughty….this was supposed to be my DT project for the new Bugaboo Stamps Challenge starting on the blog in January… but I was impatient to share it. ¬†Soooo…. guess I’ll be doing another project this weekend lol.

Be sure to subscribe to the blog, or follow me on Facebook etc if you want to be alerted to the new challenge. ¬†All you Bugaboo Stamp fans, get your creative juices flowing.. ¬†this one is exclusively for Bugaboo Stamps Projects and prizes are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps every month. ¬†Woo Hoo.. we love our Bugaboo Stamps, so the DT team are a bunch of happy little clams…. and ….we have a new DT ¬†joining us for the Bugaboo Challenge too ¬†ūüôā

Slightly off topic and I will be posting about this tomorrow ¬†too.. I just had a quick peek ¬†to see what new Gina Marie Dies are available and saw some fab deals on some Deep Red Rubber Stamps ..I was drooling over the vintage ones… specially at those prices. ¬†They will be fab for my vintage/steampunk backgrounds. ¬†AND for any of you old Cricut Explore owners who never got the Bluetooth Adapter... I also saw they have a handful of them available .. $10…… so if you always wanted one.. now’s the time to go grab one, they don’t have many in stock.

Sarcastic Birthday Card for the over 21’s

The minute I saw this image I knew I had to have it….she is perfect for my sense of humor. This is my, rather late DT Project for this months Crafty Awesomeness Challenge. I can finally get access to my craft carts ¬†now the ceilings and carpets are in.

This is Bianca Doll Stamp, one of a bunch of really cool images by KaraDollStudio on Etsy.  I printed her on Canson Mixed Media  paper, colored with Chameleon Pens and then I scanned it into my software and added the sentiment and border. I then reprinted the colored version on the same Mixed Media Paper. I took a wet brush to add in some subtle shadow in the same way I did in previous projects using only the printer ink.

The main image is popped on foam and the background  is made up of a lacy cut from Gina Marie Designs using the Lacy Lattice.

Mounted¬†with Zig Photo Tape¬†on a card base ¬†that was embossed with a Darice 5×7 Dots folder and then ¬†the over hanging portions of the image were layered on top from a second print out and colored.

Roving Reporter – Shopping Gina Marie Designs Dies by Merrie

Hi! My name is Merrie and I am doing a ‘roving reporter’ write up for CraftingCircle.

Last spring I was lucky and won a Gina Marie Designs ‘Sympathy’ die in a give-a-way on the CraftingCircle blog. It cut paper like butter, so I decided to see what else they had in their line. Imagine my surprise when I found out their store was in Michigan- and only half an hour from my son’s house. ROAD TRIP!

Due to personal reasons I wasn’t able to go until a few weeks ago. ¬†So, with my son, his girlfriend and her mother in tow- I headed to The Scrapbook Outlet. I was hoping to meet Gina herself. Unfortunately she wasn’t working that day, so I asked them to pass on a ‘hi’ from our group.

The store is small, but chock full of paper, stickers, stamps and of course dies! I must admit I did not check out the rest of the merchandise that closely. My focus was the GINA MARIE dies. I headed for them like a homing pigeon.
image2 image3It was hard to narrow it down, but I finally picked out 10 (my budget).

However, I have my eye on more of them and know what to tell my son he can get me for Christmas!

I made a card with 2 of the dies I got- tree frame and buck and die. I hope you like it.

Thank you Merrie for sharing your haul, ¬†looking forward to seeing what you get ¬†next visit and also all of the upcoming projects ¬†ūüôā ¬† – MsWipz

CAS Arched card with love birds design feature

What a fun design and so ¬†versatile…. this would make a great base for a Wedding, Anniversary ….or even Valentines Day card.

I stayed very clean and classy with this one and didn’t add in a sentiment. ¬†The Card design itself is a Rae Carr Cut file ” ¬†211 Two Birds Arched Card” ¬†that I picked up in my last haul on CUP.

The decorative corner element is made up of a mixture of Gina Marie Designs dies (see below), Off cuts from a Martha Stewart punch for the petal effect and a white glittery flower with large stone was from a bargain bin embellishment bucket at Michaels… as were the silver pearl Cabochons.
