Unity Stamps Shaker Game Card

It’s been a while since I made one of these… and I have a few new variations in mind, I just haven’t had time to do them yet. This is one I made for the Unity Stamps Facebook Group challenge which is currently ‘watercolors’. Unity (Show and Tell) using Warm inside

The circular frame is  made using a Gina Marie Designs Die “Mini Heart Lace die set”
These are the 3 inch circular windows, 1/4 inch deep  and the balls are approx 5 mm.  No foam padding needed as they are already deep enough, just fill and glue.. or glue and fill.. depending on what kind of shaker you are making.

Watercoloring was done on  Canson Mix Media 9×12  with Gansai Tambi watercolors & a BrushH2o

UnityStamps Laminated Bookmark “First love, First Hero”

Another quickie Bookmark featuring the Unity Stamp co stamp, “First love, first hero”.  Text was from an old paperback book hubby was throwing out… waste not want not lol. I stamped it up and colored it in distress marker, then inked the edges using distress ink pads. I mounted it on a piece of card, also colored in distress inks and then laminated it and punched a hole in it for a ribbon.   This is joining the growing Abandoned Art project bucket for our upcoming “mission”.

Guest Designer – Lil’ Man D ( 4yrs old ) laminated bookmarks

We had to go get new tires the other day and my lil guy.. much as he loves the dealership and checking out all of the cars and trucks..specially the trucks ( he is just like his daddy when it comes to trucks lol ) .. he gets bored after a while.  So this time I decided to take along my portable easel box I showed you in a previous post earlier this week and watercolors  in case they came in handy… plus it was a great way to test it out and see how well it worked out.

They have a seating area with comfy chairs, but also a large eating area with vending machines and coffee etc and part of that is a long bar area with bar stools…and lots of natural light from the big windows.  So we sat down  with some snacks and drinks and I started to color.. lol.. 2 seconds later as predicted “I want to color please mommy”

So here we go, these are 4 of the bookmarks he painted while we were waiting for our new tires.  I had already stamped everything out  on precut  strips of Canson Mix Media Paper and they were in the easel box ready to go with the H2o pen.  The easel box and the Gansai Tambi box are about the same size so easy to grab and go even without a bag.
I love this first Giraffe because he told me he was painting a rainbow on it too ..  I love his imagination, but I am sure glad he explains what some of it is sometimes haha.  Some of these will go to friends and relatives and others will go in the Abandoned Art box.  The Giraffe is a stamp we picked up at Michaels last month.  The father and daughter image is a Unity Stamp co stamp  that I stamped up for me to color, but he hijacked it haha

The finished pieces were mounted on some plain Recollections 65lb card stock and then laminated and a hole punched for them.  A little bit of ribbon and some beads and they will be all ready to go 🙂

This portable easel with storage is great .. he loved it so much he asked for one of his own so he could bring his pens along next time too.  These boxes are small enough and light enough for a kid to easily carry around and if required .. you could easy pop on a carry handle or strap. Once his is finished,  he will be able to decorate it as he wishes. He loves to paint wooden blanks and boxes,  so I know whatever it is…. it will be UNIQUE  haha

Bloobel Stamps February Progressive Challenge Project

I had some ideas for this one that were  not too “PC” so I  played it safe and added a simple stamped sentiment by Unity stamps.  What I really wanted to do was make a joke about the President pardoning turkeys….or  some crack about  accidentally mixing up the caterer and entertainment orders for a bachelor party and the caterer providing a “Bird with big breasts”   I will leave that with you.. and your imagination can fill in the blanks lol.  I’m just keeping in Simple … for this one  LOL

Here she is, this is  Bake Me A Cake  with Quirky Christmas Robin and the sentiment is from the Unity Stamp Co.  “A Joyous Season” stamp kit. The image is printed on Canson Mix Media and colored with Zig Kurecolor pens and a touch of Ranger Distress Pen & Crayola Color Escapes Pencils.

The image was  cut with a Lil’Inkers Stitched die from the rectangular dual stitch set on my Sizzix Big Shot and mounted on a Recollections card from Michaels using a Zig Photo Tape runner

Unity Stamp co. bookmarks for the Abandoned Art Bucket

I wanted to have a quick play before bed last night/this am ..I have had these stamps sitting here staring at me LOL. I had an old paperback of hubby’s sat here on my desk for a while now too. He no longer wanted it and I didn’t want to waste it..so it was a toss up between upcycling it, or finding a new home for it. I am sure it was a fabulous story… but upcycling won.

I see this as a fitting tribute to the author who will now be enjoyed by a potential 322 people if I were to  use the complete book to make bookmarks for Abandonment projects. That’s a pretty good audience, even if they only get to read snippets of it.  Even if I had given it away complete….I doubt it would have ever reached that many people.

I may try that idea next….. like the old Where’s George site for $ bills. I could do a “WheresJim.com” and see how far a book travels; assuming of course the book is by an author called Jim, like this one.  It might be fun to do it with a kids book… hmm, idea to tuck away for when I have some spare time  🙂

I have a bunch of stuff to take care of between now and tomorrow night. A new month is coming and that means Lots of projects and new challenges to be set up and winners to be picked.

So.. quickie description…

One page ripped in half… inked up with Ranger Distress ink pads
Stamps were inked with Good ol Craft Smart Dye ink
Colored with a mix of Zig Kurecolor and a ranger Distress pen.. feather has a touch of Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust
Mounted on Kraft card stock with Zig Photo Tape
laminated on a Scotch TL901 using Scotch laminating pouches
Trimmed up with my new Swingline guillotine ( see previous post)
Hole punched using a Fiskars 1/4 punch
Boho /shabby ribbon was a gift from a friend who was de-stashing

Unity Stamps DT Call

Sharing Angela’s Facebook  post… this would be a fab DT team to join if you ladies are  Unity stamp users.  I love the  level of “unexpectation and realism” in this DT call, It’s probably the coolest DT call I have seen so far LOL and the ability to be the  crafter YOU are.

Check out the DT call over at their Facebook show and tell page

i like to keep my Design Team girls forever and ever. as long as they will have ME.
which has worked AMAZING. ’cause i love them.

AFTER 8 years – i still have some of my ORIGINAL gals on my team. way back from 2008.

I am SO GRATEFUL for my team…. EVERY SINGLE Day.

they have put BOTH their creative energy out there for unity CONSISTENTLY as well as
made a PERSONAL INVESTMENT into unity.
they are supportive and sweet
they are tolerant and flexible.
they go with the flow.
and they WORK HARD on VERY SHORT and spur of the moment WHIMS of mine.
they go above and beyond when their lives allow it.
they do JUST what is expected when life gets busy.
i love that.

i’m tellin’ ya – i APPEAR organized.
i TRY to be organized.
sometimes i AM organized.
but as a whole – we just have FUN and we make pretty stuff.
with a schedule put together each month by my ultra sweet and organized Lisa Arana.

i am very flexible.
family, and life comes FIRST always.
however – i do always HOPE AND EXPECT the best.
you are here to PROMOTE UNITY.
i expect that.

i tolerate only kindness and compassion within the team.
that is what we have now.
nobody on our team keeps “track” of each other.
we live in an adult world of ZERO comparisons of WHO is doing what.
we support one another.
encourage one another.
enjoy one another.

if one gal makes 10 projects a month, cause her creative FLOW is there.
and one gal does JUST what she is scheduled to do {no more, no less} – I LOVE THAT.

so i guess to sum it all up.
don’t expect ANYTHING CONSISTENT of me as the owner of unity.

don’t expect ANYTHING of your fellow unity design team members.
JUST EXPECT of yourself.
no keeping track. no drama.
i won’t allow it for ONE MINUTE.
Take the opportunity of being on the Unity Design Team and RUN WITH IT.

….cause i PROMISE you – great things will happen for those that take the time to USE this position and FLY.
{i encourage flying, just so you know}

ALL I HAVE EVER wanted is
to help people make their dreams come true, along side my own.
If I get to have a small part in that….it makes me SO HAPPY!

this isn’t the normal design team call is it?

i should just get to the nitty gritty point.

Pretty Simple.

So we are going to run this DESIGN TEAM call in a VERY LAID back manner.
Sweet and Simple.

I know that there are SEVERAL of you that are on other teams.

I know this is BACKWARDS – but I am going to be UPFRONT with what I am NOT LOOKING FOR.
{please be honest with yourself when reading my thoughts below}

please don’t apply if you are not up for spontaneous requests!
please don’t apply if you run on rigid schedules and numerous TIGHT deadlines.
please don’t apply if you expect me to be weeks – even days ahead of things.
please don’t apply if you only do well with a leader, we are ALL leaders on the team.
please don’t apply if you are not flexible.
please don’t apply if you love drama. {please, please, please don’t!!!}

hee, hee.
please don’t apply if you expect EVERYONE on the team to do the SAME amount of work.
please don’t apply if you ask a million questions about every request i make.

i KNOW what i want, when i want it – NOT MONTHS ahead of time.
most times only days.

you want to be challenged.
have fun.
have opportunity.
partake in warm friendly women that have formed this team.
enjoy your creativity –
work within a group.
love change.

can work with digis

this is getting long.

Design Team Members – that can WORK WITH DIGI IMAGES!!!!!

I will say this.

I would love as MANY projects from you that promote our Kit of the Month, SMAK KIT, Stamp of the week, Layers of Life, Co-Brands, Unity Kits – that your little heart desires to make.

I want you to follow the Unity Design Team Calendar – and participate in Blog Posts on the Unity Blog and your OWN Blog.
{narrows down to 3-5 posts per month – MORE if you choose}

I want you to submit to publications so that Unity graces the pages of all our AMAZING publications in this industry.

I want you to LOVE EVERY MINUTE of being on the team.

So if you are a go with the flow sort of gal.
that makes REALLY PRETTY creations.

Unity is for YOU.

I want to see YOU put UNITY into action.

Here is how to apply.

Send me an email to angela@unitystampco.com with your BLOG ADDRESS.
{blog required}

Also please include 4 of YOUR FAVORITE creations USING UNITY STAMPS.
{you can LINK ME UP – or send photos}

One paragraph about YOU.
’cause above the CREATIVITY – who YOU are as a person matters JUST AS MUCH to me.

Please keep in mind how extremely busy we are with our small/big company.
I will do my BEST to answer any questions you have.

Please also remember that my decision is not based on our past friendship, it is not based on “who you are” in the industry, it is not based on HOW MANY TEAMS you have been on or “who you know” – it will be based on how I FEEL you will fill the position by adding to the style that I want within the team, AND adding to the team as a person.  this will be hard for me, because i know that no matter what there will be people that will be hurt by not being chosen. please be sure not to take my final decision personally if you are not chosen. that is precisely the reason i stay away from these design team calls.
i know that i am going to make 5 people very happy and that others very sad.
i don’t like that very much.
{i wish i could do a blind call – but from where i sit that would be nearly impossible.}

here we go anyway.
i am tossing it up to fate and taking a deep breath!

the end.

my email.

I will simply say THANK YOU once I get your email!
I would LOVE TO SEND A NICE LONG Paragraph to everyone – but i am always so crazy all day long – SO A SIMPLE THANKS FOR YOUR SUBMISSION is what you can expect for now!

looking forward to hearing from you!

Submission Deadline:
May 25, 2016

If I see someone I KNOW will fit I am choosing them right away! NO WAITING! – Otherwise I will be announcing all the newest Members on May 26th!

Unity Stamps Happy mail arrived !!!!

Well I managed not to scare the neighbors by running out to the mailbox looking like a disaster… but when I saw the “delivered in/at mailbox” alert ..I wasn’t doing more than throwing on some clothes and mascara and I was off!.

I did manage to wait till I got back in the apartment before diving in though… very unlike me with happy mail lol.
.. So I know you are all dying to see which stamps I won….  so I won’t drag this out too long.  I have to say,  these are not stamps I would usually buy…BUT .. that is the reason these are absolutely PERFECT !   I have limited sentiment stamps and when I need one… yup…. never have one that suits.  These are perfectly timed too, because tomorrow is hubby’s birthday and me and the little guy haven’t made his card yet.   Isn’t it funny when someone you have never met, knows what you need more than you do lol… great choice Unity, thank you 🙂

so .. here they are, our first Unity Stamps to add to our collection .. this is the “Love is Grand” sentiment set from Unity Stamps.

unity2 unity1
When I first opened the packet I thought ..oh …ok, they are sheets I need to cut up, but Nope…..  all the work is already done for you.  These sheets are pre-scored for easy separation.  Nice touch.. like that a lot 🙂
unity4I’m off to dig out some ink pads and  stamp these in my book… I keep a huge sketch pad where I stamp all of my rubber stamps.  It’s a quick way to flip through pages and see what I have, when I am looking for something for a particular project.   Specially useful for the unmounted ones for a quick reference.

Stay tuned…. we’ll be working on some cards for hubby later and I’ll share them later today or tomorrow  🙂

I won some Unity Stamps ….. Happy Mail heading this way !!

I am super excited, I woke up this morning to find out I was picked as a winner over on the Unity Stamps Facebook page. I don’t have any Unity Stamps YET…. unless there were some in the  random mixed packs I picked up on Ebay for the lil man last year.
I can’t wait to find out what they send over…. I’ve had so much fun checking out the Unity Stamp site too.  Well until I discovered THIS…. Oh boy !! I’m in troubles!
… they have 4 different monthly subscriptions and I want  them all.  I am so adding that on to my want  list  when I can afford to add more into my crafting budget.  Not only do you get  the exclusive monthly stamps… you get a discount… and it’s a bloody good one… on previous kits.

I really like the look of the SMAK kits (Scrapbooking, Mixed-Media, Altered art, Kit), I like to make my own stamped papers, for backgrounds… and those kits would work perfectly for that.APRIL-2016-SMAK-BE-DIFFERENTwm-465x656

But then of course… there is the regular kit of the month ..and you need something to go on top of that hand-made stamped background….

…AND then they have a stamp of the week and a layers subscription…..*sigh.. oh the temptation lol.

I hope USPS take pity on me and don’t send this on the scenic route…. stay tuned to find out what I got…AND what I did with it 🙂
