I just got a new batch of shaker windows in.. new shapes and sizes. This time I have 3″ Square, 2.5″ round and some 2×3′ rectangles to add to the 3″ circles I already have. I haven’t had a chance to bust them open and make any projects yet…. but expect to see some later this month. These are all 1/4 ” high as usual, so lots of room if you want to try out the fun shaker card games I make.
In the meantime…. leave a comment below telling me what new craft goodies you just got, or what you would make with these….and I’ll pick a random person and send you a mixed pack to play with. And since I am feeling very nice and relaxed after my much needed mini-vacation… I won’t even restrict it to US only entries this time.
Well there was a bit of everything in today’s crafty fun… Magnets, resin, Velvet paper, stickers, cut files, glue, enamel dots…and some window cling. Not too bad for someone who hasn’t crafted for a while lol.
I was having fun with some new CUP files. These cut files make great backgrounds and stencils for allsorts of projects.
Lizzie Mayne’s Gears & Cogs Frame Card …starting off with Captain Locke by KennyK, she’s a digital coloring I did a while back printed and mounted on silver foil paper and then a Cohas Magnetic Sheet cut on the Cricut. I only used the front portion of the card file… but this comes in square and rectangle as full card files.
Lizzie Mayne – Cornish Grid 3. I had a lot of fun with this Black on Black project..Cohas Magnet Sheet, Black SEI Velvet paper, Black glitter resin Skull and some Black Gina Marie Designs enamel dots. Nothing like mixing it up a lil’ haha.. but a pain in the hoo ha to photograph an all black project with various finishes haha
Lizzie Mayne – Dhalia Flower Mat Layer Stencil. This one was fun..I cut just one of the 3 layers in this cut file using that fab velvet paper. Mounted it on card, then colored it with Zig Clean Color pens and a touch of Chameleon Pens. I cut that out and sliced it in half …stuck it on this plain black envelope and then stamped some fun typewriter and text stamps in a faded white ink.
Just a fun way to decorate envelopes if you are sending a hand written letter, or just need an envelope and don’t want to be bo-ring!
Lizzie Mayne – Brick Wave Matt Layer Stencil. Such a fun card to make.. it’s the perfect kinda project to do with the kids, or grandkids High contrast, super fast, super easy… cut file, some glue, envelope and a card and some fun stickers… and voila.. one High contrast cute card ready to go. Makes a fun card for any occasion.
Judith Henry- Lattice Hearts Embellishments. I cut this heart in Cricut Window vinyl and will be putting it on my new car… this is just one of the hearts included in the cut file. I love how well this vinyl cuts on intricate designs and fine lines.

Some of you may have noticed the fun decals I made using Cricut Window cling and the Bugaboostamps images the other week…. See Post Here. Now is your chance to grab some window cling and stamps and make your own 🙂 I had a blast with this window cling and can’t wait to make more.
It’s been a while since I made one of these… and I have a few new variations in mind, I just haven’t had time to do them yet. This is one I made for the Unity Stamps Facebook Group challenge which is currently ‘watercolors’. Unity (Show and Tell) using Warm inside
The circular frame is made using a Gina Marie Designs Die “Mini Heart Lace die set”
These are the 3 inch circular windows, 1/4 inch deep and the balls are approx 5 mm. No foam padding needed as they are already deep enough, just fill and glue.. or glue and fill.. depending on what kind of shaker you are making.
I haven’t played with window cling in YEARS.. but saw that Cricut had some so figured I would have a play with it. I grabbed a black and what I thought was the frosted.. but actually turned out to be a white one… oh well.. still cool to play with, I’ll pick up the frosted another time. I had a quick play with some Bugaboo images to test it out.
Vinyl is not really my thing so I wasn’t too sure of the settings. I did a double pass on the dot between vinyl and Iron on on my Explore…. and it worked pretty good. It didn’t cut the backing paper and was pretty easy to weed with an exacto. Some of the more detailed portions can be tricky, but I just used a rounded point to hold the piece down as I peeled away the excess. I may rack it up a notch to Iron-on and see if that helps.. but all in all I love how these came out for first attempts.
I just put these on some spare photo frame glass I had kicking around because it is late and hubby would probably not be amused to wake up and find his car redecorated haha. I didn’t clean the glass… since it was just test pieces..and I lost his eyes, so he has random spare parts for eyes lol. I also spotted a stray piece tucked under the baseball kids shoe after I took the pics, that is easy to remove with a sharp point.
The Stella and Gus “onepersontoannoy” is approx 6×4 inches and the “akv baseball batter” is approx 4×2 inches. The Bugaboostamps store is transitioning..so no links for these until it’s finished I am afraid.
You can buy the Window cling in a bunch of colors from Cricut.com and it’s also available in a frosted glass effect.
My local Micheals.com carry a few colors of the window cling, usually black, white and frosted.. and online they have red too.
This was not what I actually intended when I bought this cling.. but it’s cool to now I have this option too.

Are you ready for Box 3? The new box is SUPPLIES…. and we all need those right?
The contents of this box are going to cost $34.99 and are valued at $89.91 …. Ok so ..what is in the box.. by all accounts from what I can see.. so guarantees….BUT.. 2 rolls of window cling, 3 rolls of glitter vinyl, a roll of adhesive foil, 3 pearlescent paper sample packs in neutral, pastels and bold colors. All things I don’t have and really would like to play with… hurry up pay day. Quantities are limited so grab it while you can.
Have you seen the Cricut Mint Machine Bundle…? check out that price and all the goodies that come with it. I am so coveting the new Explore 2… I would love one of these. If you are totally new to Cricut, which is rare nowadays… but always a possibility.. There are so many cool things you can do with these machines…way beyond what Cricut even show you. Card making, scrapbooking, home decor, kids crafts, personalized clothing, gifts, packaging…… just the tip of the iceberg.
We had one member on the message board who made all of the signs for his re-enactment group.
Me.. I bought mine to make custom photo mats then got hooked ..and there is still a tonne of things I haven’t even tried yet.
One of my favorite things about my Cricut is the aftermarket Adapters I bought, which sadly are not available for the ONE.. but they are available for the Explore, Explore Air and Air 2 and those are FANTASTIC. these are pen adapters for the Circut by a company called Chomas Creations and they allow you to expand the range of pens you can use in your Cricut. For people like me..that is HUGE…it has opened up a whole new world of potential projects that I wouldn’t normally attempt because my handwriting is terrible and my calligraphy skills.. non existent lol. But not just that.. that means I can draw with so many more pens than before…
One of my favorites and one of the most popular pins on my pinterest page is this.. the powder embossing done on the Explore. Yup.. POWDER EMBOSSING drawn on the Cricut.
This allows me to take designs and instead of cutting them, I can draw them and emboss them.. LOVE LOVE LOVE this. There are other embossing pens, including one I made myself.. but these Zig Embossing pens coupled with the Chomas Adapter.. SWEET !!!
Anyone who is a regular on here knows how much I love my Zip pens.. and most all of them will work in my Cricut with the adapter… with the exception of the big chalk pens. But that is ok…. because I can outline on the Cricut then trace over it with my bigger pens when I want to do chalk signs. Way better than anything I could ever achieve by hand.
And of course.. the .. how could I not share what is probably my favorite paper to use on the Cricut.. this stuff is AWESOME.
It cuts beautifully, looks and feels amazing and gives a little extra something something to projects.
These projects were done with Black Velvet paper, but it comes in a bunch of other colors.. including white, which I love to print and color digital stamps on.
Did I mention stencils… check out this etched glass beer stein I made a couple of years ago using a stencil I made and cut on the Cricut. This was for one of our message board challenges. I Just cut my stencil from vinyl, slapped it on..slapped on etching cream and voila.. a fun beer mug 🙂
…so by now, if you are new to the Cricut….you are probably beginning to realize the Cricut can do a lot more than just use images on cartridges and on Design Space Access…. Yup you can upload your own designs or designs purchased elsewhere. Card templates, toppers, digital stamps. I’ve got a confession… I don’t subscribe to Access, I own probably 10 cartridges.. and I use my Cricut to make a lot of cool projects. So if the price of Access, or the designs not being to your taste is something that was holding you back .. never fear… this machine still has a lot to offer.
Print and Cut is fantastic, and when the DS3 ( Design Space update) comes out soon… it’s going to be even better. I for one.. can’t wait. DS3 has so many cool new features… admittedly there are still some things I would love to have added on… because I am used to having them in my graphics programs.. but it’s not a big deal to do it externally and then upload them.
Check out some of these fun projects done using Cricut Print and cut…

This is one of my latest cut file purchases ..isn’t she cute. I decided to go with a bold contrast look and chose silver glitter for the card base, an acetate window and black velvet paper over 110lb card stock to create this cute card. The Fairy topper was cut on the Cricut Explore from a CraftsUPrint cut file. The texture on this card is quite cool…. smooth acetate, fine textured glitter card and then the lush velvet… makes for a great tactile card.
Some of you already know from the Crafting Circle Facebook Page that October was a CraZEEEEE month here and may have noticed the slow down in posting recently… but thankfully most of that is taken care of now and aside from the unpacking reorganizing and some maintenance work that needs to be done this month….. I’m back on track and raring to go again. November will be a crazy month for great deals just in time for Christmas..so I’ll be updating banners and affiliate shopping pages etc. this month and hopefully we’ll find some great deals.
The new Blitsy store page just went up.. I am so excited about this years Blitsy Pyjama Party. If you haven’t ever attended one.. you really should try and join in..it’s a lot of fun, lots of great crafters, craft challenges and product info allll night long ..as well as some great Black Friday deals..and of course..THOSE SCISSORS… just one of the great things you can win at the PJ Party and possibly in your order.
I’ll be updating a lot of the affiliate banners, adding in some fab new vendors too… some are affiliates..some will just be vendors I really love to shop at myself. Be sure to check back throughout the month, or subscribe to the blog for email updates on new posts etc.
I am cutting back on my DT projects a bit and will be concentrating more on other avenues … so don’t worry ..there will still be lots of projects.. but more variety and hopefully some fun new things to try.
I’ll be working on some fun Christmas gift and Decor projects with the lil guy in the next month so I hope you enjoy those too. He is 4 and a half now so we are starting to experiment more with new ideas….and of course Art Abandonment projects… we’ll be doing more of those in 2017 too.
For anyone who is interested.. maybe even some fun video spots in the future.. We don’t do serious..so expect them to be lighthearted and fun….and probably MESSY !! lol
Oh.. and for anyone who is interested .. the shaker card windows / pouches probably won’t be available again till after Christmas. There is one left on Ebay and I probably won’t be restocking these again on Ebay till the new year. …sooo if you wanted a pack between now and January you can PM me on Facebook and see if I have any available. I’ve been planning to add some new shapes and sizes in but just haven’t had time.. so hopefully those will also be available in the New Year.
Never believe, it’s not so … are you singing along yet ??? LOL
Sorry, 3:30 am means it’s funny half hour…. that’s when all the crazy happens in this house, luckily I am the only crazy still awake… so I only need to amuse me LOL.
This is my new Crafty Awesomeness Project featuring the fab Make it Snappy – Reindeer Trio from Bugaboo Stamps our November Sponosr over at the Crafty Awesomeness Challenge. It’s a super simple little Christmas card… a few die cut letters and some punched snowflakes set off this fun image and contrast with the plain black background.
Colored with Chameleon Pens and a touch of Gelly Roll Stardust and then a dusting of Ranger Distress inks applied with a brush for the frame and soft background. Challenges Entered :
